What is the first thing(s) that you think of when your day dreaming about going Home?

The hot Sun on my face :sunny: the Sand under my feet in the SAB pool :cool1: , the Ice Cream Sundaies at Beaches&Creams:lovestruc: watching the Illumination Fireworks :wizard: ......... :sunny:

Entering the WL lobby....I can feel the tension draining from my body! And the walk down the covered walkway down to VWL....past the Mickey DVC topiary...and into the villas building...just a great feeling. And going out on the balcony and hearing that wonderful music that confirms that "I'm home!". :)

Sitting out on our BWV balcony watching the Friendship boats, taking in the beautiful atmosphere, looking at Spaceship Earth and WS in the background. Ahhhhhh, I wish I was there now!

You are making me homesick.. now I am second guessing our stay at BCV. There is just something about VWL. ;)

My DH would not be a very happy camper if I changed our ressie though. He wants to try something different.

That WL music though............... <sigh>

This might sound dumb, but it's the smell! There's just something so magically clean & polished that almost makes it serene, even amid the bustle of people. I always seem to notice it whether it's the BC, YC, or even at AKL. Must be the pixie dust!! ;)

as i read each post i can know exactlly what your saying, the music, the views, knowing that your finally home, the smells of the restaurants, the clean air::yes::

being told at the security gate "Welcome Home" - the front desk - "how can I help you" - the music at OKW (or the old music - not sure about the new) - walking in a 1 or 2 bedroom - all the room - you can relax (of course I still love my studios....)

walking along the resort when the sun is rising - wonderful!!!!

having breakfast or lunch on the balcony and watching the birds, bunnies, turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, armandos, and the other wild life that all DVC resorts seem to attract.

My thoughts exactly!! There is a particular smell that all the DVC Resorts we've stayed at so far have (OKW, VB, BCV, HH)- its a clean, distinct smell- it is the smell of vacation to me!!

Going to the spa and escaping everything and everyone. My DH golfs and I spa

Since we've never been Home yet (SSR this May!), I can only add what I'm looking forward to for the first time:

- Our first "Welcome Homes" from security, front desk, etc.

- Sitting on our balcony, watching the lake with DTD/PI in the background.

- Watching the fireworks from our Lakeside Fireworks Viewing Plaza.

- Relaxing in High Rock Springs.

- Nice walks around the entire complex, once all construction is done.

Now how many days does it say down there?

OMG---the first thing I dream about is when they do the rope dropping little pre-show outside the MK and the first Mickey sighting when he's waving. My heart always does a little leap!! Then when you walk into the MK....that first view of the Castle. It always takes my breath away. By then I am counting the days/hours til I can get there.

Nancy :earsgirl:

The Boardwalk reflection rippling on Crescent Lake.

Walking into a park for the first time on a trip . . . passing through that barrier into magic.

The Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby.

The movie at the China pavilion.

And then the whirlpool tub.

Looking forward to being so close to DTD and the view at night, watching the fireworks, being able to walk or boat right over, checking out everything new, including the pool, the Artist Palette, and a brand new 2 bedroom villa, enjoying the relaxing theme of the resort.

Also, we'll be splitting our stay between BWV and SSR. Can't wait to be on the Boardwalk and stroll around Crescent Lake at sunset.

As my heart jumps with joy at SOOO many times during a WDW stay....I'll stick to the First thing That I dream about and that gets me each time we arive...

Driving up 192 to the Main entrance....

Seeing the Arched "Walth Disney World Resort" sign with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. I can't describe the width of my smile or the breadth of my excitement as I drive through the gate to my dreams each time! :)

OMG, Yes! I forgot about this! I love walking around in the quiet AM watching a WDW resort come alive for the day. I love to walk around and watch the sun come up, seeing WS and Spaceship Earth through the morning mist and the steam rising off the lake and pools and to watch the CMs getting the resort ready for the day. Often I will stop at the bakery and get pasteries for breakfast that we enjoy on our balcony--it is wonderful!
I want to be there now!! LOL!

Hearing that "Welcome Home" and then the golf cart ride to our villa. As our hearts are going at a rate I cant even imagine. Then after putting our suiticases in the room we both head for the disney bus. The minute we both get on the bus heading for Magic Kingdom (we just have to see Mickey and the castle before the first day is over) neither of us can sit still. That is when DH and I both see each other's feet tapping and hands fidgeting that we cant help but to burst out laughing. We are worse then two little kids and we know it.

Probably the looks on my kids' faces while sharing a funnel cake and watching Illuminations. Or maybe it's the perfectly themed music that follows you wherever you go -- at the resort, when you step into the parks, at the pool... everywhere! It's like living in a musical! I find that after a trip "home" I tend to say everything with a musical lilt and rhyme!

I tend to daydream about VWL right now b/c that's the last place we went "home", but I can't wait to dream about BCV, BWV, and SSR after our trip this summer!

Even though it is not a DVC resort.....My favorite thing is to sit in the lobby of the GF and listen to the band play.
It reminds me of the wonderful time my wife and I had on our honeymoon there.

I think of the family dinner at O'honna's....the music on main street.....illuminations....and best of all.....knowing that I have the whole week to just have fun!!!

Oh yes!!!
Welcome Home! Check in!
Brownie sundaes at Olivia's!
The bus stop early in the morning!
The view from the verandah!

And Y-e-e-e-e-s the smell! When we got back from our last trip home to OKW I unpacked a day later and found the 'smell' still in my clothes! (I usually do as much wash as possible before we leave so that I just have to put things away.) I wanted to preserve it so that I could take a whiff now and then just to remind me of OKW! (It has been reported that smells are one of the strongest memory triggers!)
Imagine opening a drawer or a bottle and getting that whiff that brings back fond memories! Ahhhhh. Off to OKW in less than 5 days!!!!

I couldn't have said it any better, just have two more things to add.....the swish of the doors as I enter VWL and seeing the bird cage straight ahead!
