What is the difference between Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek?

I love the Wilderness Lodge, but I'm confused on the two of these. I've stayed here twice, we were in the rooms where you walk past the gift shop (on your right) and then go outside on a covered path, into another building towards the left. Is this Boulder Ridge? I'm a DVC member. We are trying to decide where to stay Memorial Day Weekend. Thank you!

Yes, you stayed in Boulder Ridge. The Copper Creek villas are in the main WL lodge. They basically took all of the WL standard rooms on the right side of the lodge (side the gift shop is on) and modified them into DVC villas. We prefer CCV as the rooms are newer and are in the main lodge. BRV villas are in desperate need of a refurb.

BRV was scheduled for a full refurbishment in 2020, but COVID-19 delayed that. It has been rescheduled for 2022.

Precisely, and that two year delay makes them even less appealing. I'm sure once they are refurbished, the villas will be spectacular.

A big difference, as already mentioned here, are the conditions of rooms. CCV has the more appealing and bigger lobby. All of the restaurants are in or closer to the CCV side. Both have pools, but CCV has the slide. The boat access is also on CCV side. The benefit for BRV is its more secluded and quiet on that side.

Boulder Ridge villas are a little larger. The studios at BRV sleep 5 and CCV sleeps 4.

I also prefer CCV, personally. It is one of my home resorts. I've never stayed in a studio there, but it may be something to keep in mind.

I thought the studios bathroom was really tiny and hated the shower curtain at BRV. This is my home resort and I never stay here. Never!
But it is nice to visit the Lodge and the pool, etc. & Geyser Creek .
I have toured the Copper Creek and love those rooms.

BRV has the health club located in that building. The lobby at BRV might be a bit smaller, but it has some real special enhancements, like the wood carvings along the edge of the ceiling line and the Carolwood Pacific Railroad room with the games and fireplace. A very nice room to sit and read or meet with a small group.

The other issue is the size of the rooms. CCV rooms tend to be smaller; both the one bedroom and studio are a hard four. BRV has beds for five in the studio with the addition of the murphy bed under the television. The one bedroom only has beds for four, but if you are a DVC member staying on points, you can book five in the one bedroom. You just have to provide your own sleeping space like an air bed, plus the bedding. The kitchen in BRV in the one and two bedroom villas is a separate space while the kitchen in the one and two bedrooms at CCV is a galley kitchen that you must walk through to get to the living room. It's like a kitchen/hallway.

I used the BRV health club in Dec. It was great! I agree. The detail in the lobby and surroundings are very nice. Loved the scavenger hunt as well. Haven’t stayed there yet, but I’m sure I will at some point.

Boulder Ridge was the 1st DVC there... CC is pretty much the Wilderness Lodge hotel rooms done over for DVC.... BR is a completely different building where as CC is half DVC and half Wilderness Lodge hotel.... Love both places but the rooms at BR are bigger
