I did a temporary blog for my Panama Canal cruise last year. Just what my friends and I did daily on the ship, what the ports were like, what the events were, what we ate. It's sort of a memorialization.
There are, however, no deep thoughts posted. I left out an occurrence that impacted our group because it did not happen to me and it wasn't the internet's business.
I agree with the Bob Packwood school of blogging... never, never write down anything that you wouldn't want the general public to know.
(Bob Packwood was a U.S. Senator from Oregon. He resigned due to a sexual harassment scandal. At least 29 women complained about him. His full personal diaries were subpoenaed by the Ethics Committee and made public, and it didn't help him any.)
I believe "blog" is short for "weblog"
