If he is just doing e-mail and other text stuff, dial up is 35 cents a call. Broadband is $9.95 a day. If he can time it like we time our APs, he could get two sessions out of one 24 hour period.

WDW rooms don't have WiFi, some hotel lobbies and guest areas do, but I think these are only at non-Disney places, like the Dolphon and Swan.

Our laptop has a network card, but do we need to bring cable or is it in the room? I've stayed at hotels where you needed to have your own (Marriott), and I've stayed in hotels where the cable is coming straight out of the wall (Hyatt) and all you do is plug it into your network card.

I used my Sprint PCS phone to do it. Broadband was going installed, but I doubt I would pay $9.95 a day even if it had been installed.

If this is a regular thing for you, I would look into a cell phone adapter! Mine isn't especially fast, but is free and works most anywhere.

I use a Sprint PCS phone with Vision services--can be used as a modem to access the internet with Snapsync software which can be purchased at your local Radio Shack--cost 39.95. This will allow you to connect at about 115kps (twice dial-up). Works well for basic retrieval of email, surfing, etc but probably not uploads of large files. WiFi service at 9.95 per day is necessary for large file uploads.

But, getting back to PCS cellphone and Snapsync, I use normally for 30-60 minutes per day to dial into my Company's intranet, surf, email, and works GREAT!

Hope this helps.
