IMHO
An Old Key West Grand Villa, the first week in December, sunday-Thursday Night, only 180 points.

You know it's all subjective! Our best use of points is coming up in November, 3 Day Wonder, inside cabin, 124 points for 2 passengers + $75 service fee!

We banked last year, using this year and borrowing next year to spend 708 points in a 2 bedroom at Boardwalk Villas for 17 nights.

This is the longest vacation I have ever taken!!! We check in two weeks from today!!

Believe it or not, we think that the times when we used our points for Christmas/NYE stays was the best, especially when we were there for the Millenium celebration.

It took a ton of points, but compared to the out of pocket price, it would have cost $$$$$$$$$$.

I agree it is subjective, but I do find that our best use is when we combine OUR points with our best friend's points. This way we can enjoy 2 the bedrooms and all that space. We did it for the first time at Vero Beach and it worked so well that we do it all the time now. We have a trip in July at SSR planned.

Works for us!!!!

:D

Pinnie,

Can you tell me more about how you combine points. My parents recently purchased 150 points at SSR. We will be going there in October and at that time we may add points on to my parents or purchase some of our own. Do you actually combine your points with your friends or do you just schedule at the same time and therefore combine your vacations.

Mike,

What we do is figure out how many points are needed for the stay (we combine our vacations). Then one of us will call and make reservations. The other calls MS to deposit points into the caller's account. You will need the account number of the person you are contributing too.

Then the person who made the reservation calls MS a few days later and lets them know he wants to use the points that were deposited It is really very easy!

Cmon it has to be Sunday through Thursday nights at any DVC location.

what is concerige at polynesian?

I have no idea, what you are referring to??

We have taken 3 trips as DVC members (once each to HHI, Vero and VWL). IMO, each trip we have taken was our best use of points. It all depends on what type/length/style of vacation you wish to take. For us, we like the "fun and sun" while on vacation and appreciate the HHI/Vero type of vacation (as opposed to the WDW type) more (even though we own at VWL).

I am looking forward to (in 2006 or 2007) staying at OKW the next time we go to WDW.

I totally agree. Everyone has their own ideas on what is the best use of points. I bought DVC to make magical memories with my DH so every time I use our points I know I'm making very good use of them!

It goes without saying that any DVC member should use their points as they see fit. The best value will be Sunday to Friday at a DVC resort. The worst values will be the cash equivilent trades like DCL, CC, Adventurer Collection and DCL.

I agree it depends on what kind of stay we are trying for. One time is is 2 2 bdrs and a studio at the BWV in January, another a GV at the BWV for 5 days and 1 bdr following for 6 days in December, and when you find 66 points you forgot about and need to be used by December it's a studio at OKW in September. Ah, the beauty of DVC.

Our best use so far was to swallow the weekend point differential along with the points for AKL Deluxe Savannah and have an excellent 10 night stay at WDW spanning two weekends

BCV - BWV - AKL - BCV

thanks
