I'm in need of a new umbrella stroller. My ds is 1 and I hope to get a few years of use out of a new stroller. Here are my requirements: must recline far enough for baby to sleep, easy to fold up, my dh is 6 ft so I want handle bars that will be easy for him to push, and must have some sort of basket. Any suggestions??:confused3 TIA!!

alot of people will suggest the Maclaren Quest. I bought a Zooper twist and really like it. I also looked at the ingelsina trip and the quest. I got the best deal with the twist.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Maclaren Quest!!

DD is a bit of a chunker and other umbrella strollers didn't really support her weight comfortably. She looked like she was in a sling and stroller looked like it was about to buckle. But the Maclaren is a DREAM! Easily strolls with one hand, very large sunshade and a very large comfortable seat.

If I were you I would go to Babies R Us and test drive all the strollers. You'll quickly find which one is your favorite!

Good luck!

I'm looking for one that is a little cheaper. Do you like the Maclaren Triumph? I really only want to spend around $150.00. Maybe I can find a good deal, but I wanted to do my research to figure out which one to look for.:goodvibes

I swear by my Maclaren techno. I love it so much I bought the twin techno when I had my other son. It reclines ALL the way which is a must, also comes with a rain shield and I think they all come with a foot muff thing which I got with my double (no more hauling around blankets) which is a great feature. There are extenders in the handles to allow for taller people to drive it comfortably. Awesome stroller. Sometimes you can but brand new last years models for cheaper at albeebaby.com. I bought both my strollers there, there is usually free shipping for orders over $150 I think. I also saved $60 by purchasing a gray and lime green one because they discontinued the color. Check it out.

Check out the Joovy Groove. It has all the features you like and you can get them on eBay and Walmart.com for about $150. I think they look pretty cool too! And I love the colors!

I have the Joovy Groove 2 (joovy double umbrella)and it works great. The singles have everything you are looking for in an umbrell and most of all, it does not tip if you take the baby out of the stroller with the diaper bag still attached to the stroller like the Maclarens do.

I LOVE my Maclaren Quest.

Check around for deals on last year models.

I also love my Maclaren Triumph! I wish I had found this with my first two kids, it is great! We are also tall and finally are comfortable pushing this!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Another vote for Maclaren! I have the Techno and love it. I had a less expensive model for my first two (no longer available) and loved that one too. Check ebay and discount strolller sites - you should be able to pick one up in your range. They are great for bigger babies, all of my kids are on the taller/heavier side. They really hold well and are worth the $$.

We have a Maclaren Triumph and love it. One of the things it gets dinged on sometimes is a shallow seat. My DS is 5 and 44" tall now and he was just sitting in it the other day, comfortably (I wanted to see if he still fit - sure enough, he does...watched a whole episode of Phineas and Ferb while sitting in it - LOL!)

I love the shoulder strap on it too. It was our first stroller to go to WDW when DS was about 10 months old, and will likely be our last stroller to come along to WDW in September. We've used a Peg Perego, a Baby Jogger, and a Baby Trend in addition to the Mac on various trips...I think the Mac and the Baby Jogger tie for favorites, although the Mac is WAY easier to shlep around onto the busses.

the macs have all been suggested. you could also look into the Silver Cross Dazzle or Pop. the Joovy Kooper is nice and the yellow color it comes in is gorgeous (IMO). the baby jogger city mini is really great its not an umbrella fold but is great for tall folks and is less tippy than the macs the fold is a quick book fold. The only ones I don't have are the kooper and the pop so if you have any questions I am happy to answer.

I have a maclaren quest & techno and LOVE them! They fold up so fast & easy and recline to different positions. If you don't want to spend a lot of $$$, look at the 2007 or 2008 model maclarens. You can get them cheaper then then the 2009 models. try www.babye-store.com they have some good deals and free shipping.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!:thumbsup2 I'll shop around for the recommended models and I'll check out these websites too!! Since this stroller will be mainly used for Disney and Cedar Point I knew this was the thread to get my answers.;)

I love my peg perego ARIA it weighs less than 8 pounds. Fold with one hand one step..

I can collapse it and lift all by myself while still holding my 18 month old daughter.

It has a huge sun visor fully reclines and has a nice size basket

$200 or onsale for about 140

I have a Silver Cross Dazzle. It reclines, has a basket for storing items, a large sun shade and great for pushing if you are taller.
