So what have you really found that you need to pack when going home? Did you learn about it on the boards?

I usually pack 2 extra bars of soap, one for the kitchen sink and an extra one for the bathroom. They usually only leave 1 bath and 1 face soap in the bathroom, there are 2 sink areas & the shower (1 bedroom). We also throw in some foil for wrapping leftovers. If you are going to wash clothes frequently, bring some soap powder or tablets (1 box of tide is in the room when you arrive and you get 1 on trash & towel day). I also bring a funnel, we buy some regular size water bottles & then refill them from large bottles (we buy the water at the store when we get there) and then freeze overnight.

then leave half of it home. We are getting better at not taking cloths we never wear.

:D a hanging shoe bag, (a clear plastic one is great, you can see whats in each pocket) i hang it in the closet and put all our bathroom things in it, tooth paste & brushes, hair spray, brushes & combs, make-up, medcine, deo, soap, travel size hot hair rollers, each person has their own row, the bottom row, candy, snacks, so the kids can reach them. this way your bathroom counter stays empty, roomy, and clean. i cant stand looking at a messy counter, and this way you feel more at home then living out of suitecases and hotel setting. just my little tip, and dont forget to bring it on your cruise too!;)

the laundry deturgent tablets...half amount of clothes (because you can wash things easily)....that you can ship things down. Other then that money because if you forget something do stress and just buy a replacement. :D

I usually pack, folded up, one of those big tote bags (what ever they are called). It is used to bring back all those things we buy down there.

1/2 the clothes you think you need, but double the sneakers. At least two pair of comfortable sneakers. With the afternoon rain, there is no worse feeling than trying to put on wet sneakers or walk around Disney in uncomfortable shoes.

Another tip I have learned is to save yogurt containers and put mayo, ketchup, butter and mustard in them. We don't use much of this stuff on vacation, but it is nice to have.

Last week, on our first stay in a 1 BR, I noticed that we didn't get a "scrubby" sponge (Tuffy-you know, the plastic scrubbies).

Worse? How adding insult to injury and finding pictures of your uncomfortable shoes at BadShoe.com? LOL

I like to have night lights for the bathroom and extension cords to plug in stuff.

Zurg:

I think I saw my DD on your site!!!! She wears those high healed sandals and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why. Now I know, she is trying to make it on your site.

HBC;)

Simbas mom, when we stayed at VWL earlier this month, there not not one of the regular sponge/scrubbie things we had in the past, you know, the pink ones with a scrubber on one side. This time there was a small yellow one about 2" square. Not big enough to get a good grip on, even for just wiping things out. Wondered if this was just at VWL, but I guess not.

I always pack tide tablets and dryer sheets so we can do some laundry. We also pack a duffle bag and use that both as a laundry bag and to bring back things we buy.

I take as few clothes as possible and wash often. The room I save packing clothes is filled with an extra pair of walking shoes. I find I do best if I can change shoes often.

I always take one of those fold-up, pop-up mesh hampers to toss all the dirty clothes. It keeps all the dirties in one spot and makes sure that they are all together when I do a load of wash. If you are in a studio, it gives you something easy to carry the laundry in to the laundry room when you are ready.

We like to take a "crushable" lunch size cooler to fill with snacks, capri suns etc when we go to the pool or water parks. Also various sizes of ziplock bags for ice, leftovers, snacks etc.

This year I'm trying this new fabric spray just out in the stores (can't remember the name of it) that takes wrinkles out of clothes when you spray it on. I don't like to iron either!
