well beside what you said my free trip to DisneyLand AND DisneyWorld last year!! In fact, this is the very week I was gone last year It was an amazing trip filled with many surprises and wonderful memories.
Years ago, we were going on a Disney cruise. USAIR airport customer service agents went on strike that morning and we ended up missing our flight. Had to fly into a different city. Called DCL to tell them that we wouldn't be arriving in Orlando, and did they have shuttles from our airport. They said that someone would meet us at the new airport. When we arrived, there was a limo waiting for the 3 of us. We felt so special!
Two tickets to a Kris Kristofferson concert in Kalamazoo probably 25 years ago by now.
I was listening (kind of) to a radio station, and they were talking about an upcoming concert and I didn't catch the details, then when they said who was giving the concert my ears perked right up. So, I called the radio station to get the details, and the guy I talked to said he could send me two tickets for free. I was thrilled!! It was an outdoor concert and we got there early enough to get close to the front. It was awesome!!
material wise-I loved my free soniccare toothbrush, I was very sad once it wore out because I can't convince myself to actually go spend that much money on a toothbrush.
non material- my twin nephews and my three godchildren. I never wanted to marry and it never quite worked out for me to have my own kids so I got all the fun of kids without the labor or school fees LOL
WDW trip in 2003, which gave us the opportunity to do a lot of things we wouldn't have done otherwise (parasailing, La Nouba, massages, etc). It wasn't free since we had to pay taxes, but it was close enough.
The most recent is the used John Deere Gator toy that my stepbrother gave to DS. His kids outgrew it. The gear shifter is broken and the horn doesnt work and I had to buy a new $60 battery but the enjoyment that my son has experienced in the past week is priceless.
I won a Hawaii vacation for seven days thanks to the people on the Budget Board here.
My friends are NOT free! Every time I take them to Disneyland, I end up buying something I don't need!
I think the best physical thing we ever got was a very nice and expensive black leather couch. Our dear friend bought it after his divorce and less than two years later, he moved in with his lovely new girlfriend (now wife!) and they didn't have room. He just GAVE it to us. It is really an expensive item I would not have otherwise have purchased.
free...craigslist items...entertainment center and a train table! a little tykes slide/swing that somebody put on the curb cause the slide had a piece of plastic cracked (covered it with duct tape and it's good as new!
i won free tickets to our local minor league baseball team. it was for the pool (we have 2 built in pools in right field) and *sigh* it rained. so no pool AND no game AND no re-scheduling...it was the last game of the season. lol that's my luck!
