Ya'll,

I'm from Alabama and have made many trips to the Fort over the years. Our approach has always been from the North via I-75 to the Turnpike.

Next month, I am leaving Alabama on spring break and stopping only ONE night at the Fort. Our ultimate destination is Key West, FL (Boyd's Campground there). So what route is the best to leave the Fort in the morning and catch the turnpike headed south to West Palm Beach, Miami, and the Keys?

I looked at the map and it appears Osceola Parkway is the best choice (that the road running between Animal Kingdom and Wide World of Sports). It looks like I should follow it east off property to the Turnpike interchange. I'll be towing my pop-up with the Suburban.

So I'll be at the Fort on Saturday March 12 for one night only. We leave the Keys on Friday the 18th of March also stopping at the Fort. I've requested the 1500 loop in my ressie both times. So I'll only be there one night each way but if you can catch me please stop by to say, "hello".

PS-I've got my Turnpike Sunpass ready. Also thanks to the Mayor (Stacktester) for his help in planning this trip (if he still reads the boards).

That is the most direct route. You will have tolls for part of the journey across the Osceola Parkway, and part of it will be regular stop and go traffic-light traffic. But it's simpler than going up I-4 to the Beachline and going across to the Turnpike (or just taking I-4 up to the Turnpike), or backtracking up the 429 to the Turnpike (although either of those alternates won't have you in as much stop and go traffic, if that matters to you).

I live in palm beach. That route always has worked for me. I frequent the fort on weekends. It is about 2 1/2 hours to the palm beach county line. Let us know how boyds us went their about 18 years ago and have always wanted to go back.
