What is the best piece of exercise equipment you have purchased?

My DH and I bought a Bowflex Ultimate about 3 yrs ago. What a wonderful piece of exercise equipment. But like any equipment, it is only good IF you use it. My DH was bordering on high blood pressure and the doc said that he needed to exercise. So DH started using it religiously. He SIGNIFICANTLY lowered his BP within 1 month, from 145/85 to 120/70. He also lost about 20 lbs. in 2 months. Oh, and I like it too, I just don't use it as religiously as DH .

I am very lucky to have a treadmill, a set of dumbells,and a set of barbells and plates. I consider all three to be a great investment. I use them on a daily basis.

Well - the eliptical that we bought about a year ago is less of a "clothes hanger" than other stuff we've had. DH uses it more than I do. He needs to schedule himself for a physical, so I'm hoping that motivates him to use it more. I leave for work before he's even out of bed, so I'm not sure how many days a week he uses it! (I go to Curves 3X a week, but should be doing the eliptical the other days.)

Love my Pro-Form treadmill. I bought it 10 years ago used, from a guy who was leaving the country who sold it to me for a song. It still works like a champ, and its gotten plenty of use.

For Christmas last year, I bought myself an Orbea Orca road bike. Since then, I've logged in about 480 miles on it with training rides, weekend rides, and races. It cost a pretty penny but man am I soooo happy with it.

totally agree with this....and I am adding a BIG SILVER BALL!! these are excellent....great for the strecth, for crunches, using the dumbells, and push-ups. I also use this just to bounce on! helps the legs and hips...

My motorized treadmill.
I had a manual one and hated it, but when I finally got the motorized one last year, I was thrilled. I jog daily and walk 4-5 times a week too, so during these cold and snowy months I get so much use out of it. Ive already put 7 miles on it today.

I would say my workout tapes. tae bo tapes, step tapes, and ab tapes offer a nice variety for me. I w/o at home a couple of days a week and in the gym 3, if I didn't have the gym I may have more at home. I do have some dumbells and my stability ball (which I LOVE). my favorite outdoor equipment are my rollerblades. can't wait to get back on them when it warms up!

Without a doubt, my treadmill! I wore out a Proform and now have a KeysFitness. We also have a recumbent bike that is getting a lot of use and a Hoist weight machine, but the Treadmill is without a doubt, number one on my list.

Well, many folks know I am an exercise afficianado so I love my whole collection and I keep adding to it, too. If I had to choose I would say my fave is my elliptical.

I have a Trotter treadmill, Bally Fitness elliptical, weights and bars, weight machine, exercise videos and DVDs, a double jogger stroller (I gave my single jogger stroller to my sister for her and her baby one day), 2 stability balls, 2 exercise stairstep/benches, and other sports equipment. I am saving up to buy a Pilates machine and time to fix up our spare room as a family gym.

Then again my shoes are the best investment because I think anyone with shoes can do something... like walk or jog and it's very economical.
