Our camera began giving us trouble during our return portion of our WDW trip in March. We had to buy a new camera and got a Kodak M1033. Absolutely love this camera, wish we had it on our trip. Its slim, zoom feature, face recognition, large viewing screen, lith/ ion battery, and on and on. It is literally a point and shoot. When you have it in "Smart" mode, it does those scene selections for you automatically. Picture quality is incredible, but I suppose with 10 mega pixals. It takes great motion shots too. For what it offers, I consider it affordable. Paid $159 at Target.

I primarily use my Canon SD880IS right now, but I use an Olympus Evolt 420 SLR for the parks when I know I'm going on wet rides, due to it being pretty much waterproof. I think for your needs OP, you should get an SD1000, 1100 or 1200, depending on what you can find. If you can afford it, look into the SD870 or SD880, as they are stabilized.
