These are awesome tips!! :flower: Thank you to all :teeth:

If you bring small walkie/talkies do they work .....with all the ships metal/steel just wondering!!

Thanks! :earsboy:

We've used walkie talkies on 2 other cruises (non DCL-our 1st is 11/5!) and they worked great. We gave one to our son so we could communicate with him if we needed to. It really worked out well. :)

Can shutters burn a CD of the photos on your digital camera so you can make room for more picture taking? :earboy2:

get a wake up call! mickey will personally call you to wake you up! was a real treat for our DSs! :flower:

no offense to joel either, but gotta agree with you!!! My Pookie LOVED her daily wakeup call from Mickey. She was only 3 at the time, and thought that it was really him. Loved the look on her face when she heard him tell her to get up and have a great day.

For those asking about these tips in a file...I have it in Excel format. It includes these tips and those from the cruise tips thread that started over a year ago. Send a PM, and I'll be happy to e-mail the file.

Hey, I apologize if this one has been on and is a repeater, but as an experienced cruiser of about 12 cruises, this is one I learned early on.

Don't kill yourself trying to get to the port talks and the disembarkation talks if you are in the middle of something else. They are repeated over and over and over and....well, you get the idea....in the rooms on one of the chanels. So are some of the shows if you miss them. I know on Carnival once, they kinda had a "highlight reel" of the days activities that they re-ran.

p.s. Here's another one. Getting a big photo mailer from the drug store or somewhere, and sticking your photo's in there to make the trip back home without the photo's gettin all bent up.

IMA THREAD KILLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared:  :faint:

Sorry to dethrown you :rotfl: but I have to say your advice about the embark/debarkation meeting is good info. Thanks!

Yes, they will do this for you. I think it was around $10. We didn't have ant problems, but I have heard others did. I think you can ask them to show you that the pictures are on it and before you have this done double check that they have they protective covers available.

The coffee table raises up to make it easier to sit on couch and eat from room service. Been on 3 cruises never knew this until I saw a picture in another thread. Boy..this will save my back next cruise!!

Thanks for the idea about the photo mailer. I wouldn't have thought of that if it wasn't for your thread. :goodvibes

Wow. I didn't know this. Maybe this will be one of the best tips. I'll have to try it in 2 weeks!

:sunny: I set the alarm function on my iPod for a different selction of songs every morning. Our favorite is the main title from The Lion KIng, but A Hard Day's Night works really well too!

Extension cords!

Yes, I'd have to go with this one! The extension cord we brought really came in handy - especially with all the curling irons, straighteners, phone chargers, etc., that we brought!

I wouldn't go on another cruise without one.

:cheer2:

I would have never known about dressing up for pirate nite if not for these boards, thanks we had a great time dressed as PIRATES. :cool1:

Really?? I can't wait to try it!! Thanks.

Can someone tell me more about the Pirate Party. Is it only on 7 night cruises?

We are sailing in 10/06, for 4 nights.

You're welcome. I tend to buy more photo's on the Magic, than I do anywhere else because of all the character ones with my Pookie!!!! It's nice to have them all make it home in one piece!!!!

You are also welcome!!!!! :sunny: :goodvibes I tell ya, the first time I cruised, and I was involved in something else....ran pell mell thinking I was missing vital information.....and then saw the talk later in it's entirety on the TV :earseek: boy did I feel like a doofus!!! And I was bummed out that I left my other activity :guilty:

okay, okay....since it is late, and I am up anyway...waiting for my daughter to FINALLY go to sleep so that I can play tooth fairy :wizard: here's another one you might like: If you are going on the Magic, and you couldn't get a ressie for dinner or anything...you can still go in, order drinks and sit at the bar!!!! And usually they will also let you, while you are there, order one of their TO DIE FOR chocolate souffles.
