What is the BEST cruise tip you ever learned from the Dis?

The big problem with people bringing their own bubbles for the sailaway party is that some people bring the kind that turns into a sticky mess if they get on clothing or in hair. Other passengers will not appreciate that! I agree that Disney provides plenty of entertainment (including that they have a bubble making machine during the sailaway party) and kids and adults should find plenty to entertain them.

2-way radios can come in handy if you really need them, but they can be extremely annoying if abused by kids or adults. I am NOT accusing anyone here of bad radio etiquette, but on too many sailings I've been surrounded by squaking handhelds and guests walking by saying "Can you hear me now?" or kids just hanging out everywhere on the ship and chatting loudly over their radios. It's like a bad cell phone commercial. Use them if you need to, but please have consideration for passengers who cruise to escape technology for awhile instead of carry it with them. Thanks.

Kimmielee:

What's the name of the wrinkle remover, and where did you get it?

Thanks!

It's Downy Wrinkle Releaser and I got it at Target! Works awesome... although another poster said misting just plain water works just as well? :confused3

If the ship's stores are closed and you need a toiletry item of some kind for the ladies, like tampons, you can ask at guest services and they will get some out of the back room and give them to you discretely in an envelope. They also have asprin and seasick meds. No charge :sunny:

Now that is BY FAR one of the best tips that has been posted yet! :cool1:

:guilty: A woman in need is a woman indeed! :worship:

Thank you all or the wonderful tips. :thumbsup2

We are looking forward to our first cruise on March 25 and will use many of these ideas. We bought our clear over the door shoe holder at Target for around $5.

The one thing that I have not seen on this thread is formal wear information. Purchasing tuxedos for boys is very inexpensive at EBAY!

Less than one month left! :cool1:

When travelling w/little ones (toddlers):
Take along a bath mat for the shower/tub ($7-$10 at Target) and baby bath bubbles. Mat rolls up easy and/or just lays flat in luggage. It's great to get the sunscreen off and it helps relax them (alot of stimuli on ship!). Don't forget a little rubby ducky and/or little bath toy (alphabets work great). They're also little enough for the baby pool (non-obtrusive). They also sell ducky pirates on ship.

During dinner, you can always ask for whatever, not just what's on the menu... I usually want just a grilled chicken breast w/steamed veggies after the 3/4 night. (Learned that one here!!)
:disrocks: Love this site!

I'm suprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet. At the spa - for you adult travellers... The Rasul ritual (used to be the Surial) - it's very inexpensive because you do it for yourself.

You and a Partner of your choosing, go into a seculded room with showers and a steam room and bowls of MUD for about 50 minutes! The idea is to rub eachother down with the mud and then sit in the steam room to let the nutrients from the mud soak into your skin and then rinse off in the showers. DH and I did this treatment on our honeymoon.... :cool2: (i'll leave it up to your imagination from there.)

oooh sounds nice around how much did this cost?????

we reserved this for our upcoming cruise in April. It was only $89 or something like that. I though it would be kind of fun for my DH and I. There is a thread on the Rasul if you are interested in reading about it.

I thought I had mentioned it here, but maybe on another thread about what to do for two adults :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

We also loved the "mudbath" - we felt it was one of the best things we did on the cruise! We were celebrating our 25th anniversary! Next time I'm booking it more than once

Just wanted to say this is a GREAT thread! Thanks to everyone who has posted something of potential merit! :thumbsup2

Here is my tip from our last cruise:
bring a two pocket folder or one of the small according looking file folders. This was a life saver when we wanted to bring back Navigators, postcards and such.
Also not sure if it was mentioned, clothes pins for hanging up wet suits in the shower!!

Keep the great tips coming!!
