I am still scared of rollar coasters, I know I am a big chicken. My big acomplishment was Thunder Mountain Railroad. I loved it, but it didn't have big drops. Does Spiderman have real drops or are they fake? What happens when you ride it? I don't mind spoilers, I would like to be prepared so I don't pee my pants! lol  Is the ride scary? :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4: :charac4:

hi there,
Spiderman was our fave ride in orlando we did it six times, now we're real adrenaline junkies but this is not a rollercoaster the car only tilts a little bit and just moves round on the tracks and its not scary , i won't say too much as it will spoil the ride as there are a few twists. but its not like a rollercoaster at all so you should be fine on it.

First let me tell you I do not not do coasters either. I will do R&R because my main problem is heights, not speed, and you can't see how high you are up in the dark on R&R. So I can do this ride without fear. Spiderman is also dark, and has none of a coasters speed. Its a simulated ride, so you are really not up on top of buidings like you appear to be while on Spidey. Knowing this, I keep telling myself i am very close to the ground, so I lose the fear and enjoy this spectacular ride!

I have a friend who cried on Thunder Mountain (I'm talking about an adult). She LOVED Spiderman. When we are at IOA she has to ride Spiderman several times a day. There is a simulated drop at the end. If you start getting upset, just close your eyes.

Superman is not really like a rollercoaster.. it is a 3D thing going on around you, so you feellike you are moving up and down, falling etc... but really it is the screens and the 3D glasses, it is a VERY COOL and fun ride!

Enjoy

I personally did not keep my eyes open the whole time on Spiderman as I get motion sickness. My kids all loved it, however the eldest(8) came out shaking from it.
I get the same motion sickness thing from going on the Jimmy Neutron ride, but it was hillarious and fun.

there is no other ride like it in the world. you sit in a vehicle (scoop) that follows a tracked course in a dark environment. your vehicle also has the abilty to move on it's own on different axis aka spinning, bumping, shaking, tilting, in relation to the environment you are in. as you move on the journey you're placed in and around 3D scenes where spiderman and villians are playing out a story you find yourself immersed in. not to mention environmental effects play into different scenes. in true UO fashion, it's not scary, just amazing. the first time you ride it you will walk off not believing what just happened. :D you'll catch little nuances everytime time you reride. you'll see what I mean on the first 3D scene, when spidey lands on your scoop, and the nose of it nudges down right where he lands, and he's standing right there, with his finger in front of your face. it's consistently tied with TOT as the best theme park ride on the planet. peeing your pants is not an option. have fun.

:flower1: This ride sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait, I am almost there! :flower1: This chicken IS going to try it! lol :cool1: :cool1: Forget the Hulk ride though! :earseek:

you're missing the best launch on a roller cosater if you do. :D

:flower1: Thats okay, if I went on that ride, it wouldn't be the only launch if you know what I mean! lol :crazy2:

how dark is dark on this ride. i love roller coasters but the dark is what freaks me out. is it comparison to space mountain or rnr roller coaster. thanks

I ahve been on spiderman, & I loved it. It is not really that dark in there, mainly because of the screens. As far as the hulk. I rode it 12 times in a row. I would of went on more times, but the park was closing. lol

It's "movie theatre dark", not "stub your toe on the furniture dark." :Pinkbounc

Spiderman is just 3d video simulator. If you don't like it, you can close your eyes. DD11,DS8 loved it. DH wouldn't ride because he gets motion sickness really easy, like the Jimmy Neutron simulator made him nauseous.
