I have tried using cardstock and index cards; small rulers, large rulers, measuring tape; paper cutter, various sizes of scissors; and yet it takes me FOREVER to get one to the right size. If I didn't have 50 stamps I would give up!

What am I doing wrong? What's wrong with me????

I haven't sent any postcards in yet, and I am going to get going on that, but isn't a regular postcard you buy in the store the right size??? Are they too big that you have to cut them down to size?

If you're talking about the postcards from the post office, I broke down and bought 50 today, and they are only 1/2 inch too long on one side (3.5 x 5.5.)

If you are referring to index cards, they come in either 3x5 or 4x6 which aren't the right size for the contest or for post office requirements.

Stop cutting them and just send them in. FYI -- I won three pairs of ears today with the standard, uncut postcards from the Post Office, filled out with computer printed labels.

Exactly! In addition, I spoke with a representative of the marketing group handling this promotion and she assured me the prestamped cards from the PO would be just fine to use. I've only won a lanyard so far...but all I've ever entered with are the cards from the PO.

Even if the postcard is free you still have to pay for the stamp. The best option is to buy the ones at the post office that include postage. Right now they are $.26...so basically the card itself is costing $.02! Hopefully the postal rate increases going into effect soon won't add too much to the price of these postcards.

You do not have to trim the USPS postcards!

I haven't trimmed any that I've sent in, and we've won two sets of ears and two lanyards with pins.

Also, starting on September 18, 2006, eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a 3.5"x5" postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: (i) if a legal resident of the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico: P.O. Box 8629, Elmhurst, IL 60126; or (ii) if a legal resident of the United Kingdom: Disney Dream Giveaway, 483 Green Lanes, London N13 4BS. Participants may enter once per day during the Giveaway Period. All mail-in entries must be mailed separately, postmarked by December 31, 2007 and received by January 14, 2008 or they will be void.

Here's the "Eligibility" section from the official rules. She could win, but the prize would probably be awarded to her parent/guardian.
