The answer SHOULD be 'nothing,' but I have to admit I am

(:ssst: :ssst: :ssst:)

"cutting challenged." :scared: :scared:

I have tried using cardstock and index cards; small rulers, large rulers, measuring tape; paper cutter, various sizes of scissors; and yet it takes me FOREVER to get one to the right size.:confused3 If I didn't have 50 stamps I would give up!:scared:

What am I doing wrong? What's wrong with me???? :confused3

I haven't sent any postcards in yet, and I am going to get going on that, but isn't a regular postcard you buy in the store the right size??? :confused3 Are they too big that you have to cut them down to size?

If you're talking about the postcards from the post office, I broke down and bought 50 today, and they are only 1/2 inch too long on one side (3.5 x 5.5.)

If you are referring to index cards, they come in either 3x5 or 4x6 which aren't the right size for the contest or for post office requirements.

broke out the ruler and measured, and cut up all the postcards i had

Mine are 3.5 x 5.5..haven't cut any of them down. None have been returned, not enough time sending them in yet to know if I have won anything.

Stop cutting them and just send them in. FYI -- I won three pairs of ears today with the standard, uncut postcards from the Post Office, filled out with computer printed labels.

Exactly! In addition, I spoke with a representative of the marketing group handling this promotion and she assured me the prestamped cards from the PO would be just fine to use. I've only won a lanyard so far...but all I've ever entered with are the cards from the PO.

So stop running with those scissors!!! :teeth:

Even if the postcard is free you still have to pay for the stamp. The best option is to buy the ones at the post office that include postage. Right now they are $.26...so basically the card itself is costing $.02! Hopefully the postal rate increases going into effect soon won't add too much to the price of these postcards.

Anyone make their own postcards?

That's what this thread was originally about, what a hard time I was having cutting cardstock and index cards to the right size. I sent out a few like that, but now I'm just cutting 1/2 inch off one side of the post office postcards. SO much easier.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I got that. I guess what I meant to ask was if most were using bought postcards or using homemade. Thanks!

You do not have to trim the USPS postcards!

I haven't trimmed any that I've sent in, and we've won two sets of ears and two lanyards with pins.

Same here. I sent out the USPS postcards, and have won two lanyards and one set of earst.

I know that this has been done before, but would someone be so kind as to paste the directions and address for postcard entries here? I keep on getting stuck reading through LONG threads about it!

TIA!:goodvibes

Can I enter with my niece's name (she's a toddler)? I think it would be fun for her to win something - but I wasn't sure if you have to be an adult to enter???

Here's the "Eligibility" section from the official rules. She could win, but the prize would probably be awarded to her parent/guardian.
ELIGIBILITY

Void outside the fifty (50) United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and where prohibited by law. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes in the Giveaway: (a) persons who on or after May 1, 2006 were or are directors, officers or employees of Sponsor, Creata, or their respective parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies, any other individuals or companies engaged in the administration, development, production or distribution of the Giveaway and any advertising or promotion agencies associated with the Giveaway; (b) persons who on or after May 1, 2006 were or are on-site directors, officers or employees of any commercial establishment at the Disney Properties (as hereinafter defined); and (c) persons who are immediate family members (defined as spouse, or biological, adoptive or step- mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or any dependent under applicable income tax law) of any person in any of the preceding categories, regardless of where they live, or who reside in the same household, whether an immediate family member or not, as any person in any of the preceding categories. Except as otherwise set forth in these Official Rules, prizes won by a person who is a minor in his or her state, province or country of residence ("Minor") may, in Sponsor's sole discretion, be awarded to his or her parent or legal guardian, and, in the case of prizes that, in Sponsor's sole discretion, require winner verification, that parent or legal guardian will be responsible for completing the verification process and executing all "Prize Claim Documents" (as hereinafter defined) and otherwise complying with all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Minor is the winner of any prize in which the winner is permitted to travel to, stay at or attend an event, site or destination, such Minor and any guest (as applicable) must be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian on such prize and, as applicable, the parent or legal guardian will be considered one (1) of the allotted guests.
