What is Pop Warner week?

Dumb question here, What is Pop Warner week? What does it mean and how does it effect people?

Pop Warner is a national group of little league football players and cheerleaders. They swarm into WDW usually the first week of December. You probably will not notice them too much in the parks, but if you are at their main resorts, you will notice them at the pool and food court. Stay away from ASSports and POR for sure if you are going during this time. Otherwise, they really don't impact park crowds too much.

we were down in December and I didn't really notice them until the impromtu cheer-off in Planet Hollywood.....and for those of you that haven't been there, this building is like 3 floors, so the cheerleaders were battling on a floor vs. floor competition.

I'm not sure what park you guy's were in but I definitly noticed them. We were at the "world " from the Dec. 2nd thru the 10th of last year. They were very noticable(sp). I did not see them at our resort because it was are first stay at our new "home" SSR , But you deffintly ran into them at the parks. We were also told before we left last year that they would not be to much impact from the POP W. people, but that was not the case. We ran into loads of screamming kids all over the parks, I also wintnessed first hand these same kids "that were not suppose to be an impact", run up to a bus stop at the last minute and budge ahead of everyone standing in line. But I would have to say that the worst part of it was the "Cheerleaders", They were loud,and very rude. Heaven save you if you had to be on the same ride as a group of them, they would scream the whole time, then if there were two groups from different teams then they would compete aginst each other to see who could scream louder I'm all for being a kid when you are at the world but, this is just plain annoying, especialy if you have a young child with you. All in all I would try to schedule for the second week of Dec. if possible, I will never ever go during Pop W. week again.

Kitts21.....I am with you !! We were there the exact same dates and we DEFINITELY noticed the Pop Warner crowd everywhere we went. It was MUCH, MUCH, MUCH worse at the resort (ASMusic) than in the parks, but they were also carrying on in the parks too. I will never go back during PW week either. There is NO SUPERVISION by the "chaperones" and no intervention by the Disney staff. There were times when the "chaperones" were worse than the kids ! We spoke to many many families from other resorts (Pop Century, AS Sports and Movies, both Port Orleans and CSR) and they all had PW kids at their resorts. But AllStars seemed the worse. Avoid Pop Warner at all costs !!

I guess different folks have different experiences. We were there during Pop Warner last year (and in the past also) and didn't really notice them much. We stayed at BWI, so it didn't make any difference there. We saw some groups at Epcot and they weren't badly behaved at all. At the other parks, we only saw a few, but again, they were not a problem. In the past, I have seen groups breaking into cheers, but not this time.

You are not the only person.....I've never heard of them either! What exactly are the dates that they are there? We are going right after Thanksgiving into December. We will be at the BWV so hopefully we won't notice anything.
