What is or are your anchor(s)?

In NLP therapy, an anchor is something that grounds you, something that when triggered can revert you back to a better state than you may have been in before. OK, a tad overly-simplistic, but you get my drift.

For me it's my watches. If I feel lost, frantic or alone, I can look down at my wrist and feel much more relaxed. They are my "armour" if you like.

It can be anything. A smell, a texture, a vision, complicated or simplistic.

My engagement ring. When I need to ground myself, I catch the light in the diamond and twirl it round my finger. It just kind of absorbs all my attention and thoughts.

Probably sounds silly but I think back to memories of family time at WDW, when my kids were little. I keep some of the WDW soaps and shampoos on hand to really pull me back into the happy space & it works well. I tend to do this leading up to BRCA2 testing which always throws me off, it is easy to carry one of those mini shampoos in my purse and I can dab it on my wrist during tests.
