We are surprising the kids on Christmas morning with Disneyland tickets. We plan to drive down that day, but won't arrive until late in the afternoon. I'm guessing the parks will be swarmed by that time, so I was thinking of giving them gift cards to Build A Bear and Ridemakerz and we would spend the afternoon going to Downtown Disney instead and hit up the parks first thing the following morning.
