What is Maelstrom?

I see there are alot of mixed feelings about this attraction, so there may be a 50/50 chance that I'd like it. I guess I will give it a try. Thank you all for your responses.

It's actually not from the movie but the ride. I think it is after you get off the ride but it might be when you're waiting in line. But there is a sign that says those exact words.

The reason I posted it is that the "sign" (and the theme for the entire Splash Mountain attraction) is taken from the Disney film "Song of the South".
(Never released to home video in the USA.)

The quote from the sign you posted is just a paraphrase from the film dialogue.

I have wanted to see the original "Song of the South" film but unfortunately it is no longer for sale. I know it is coming out again this year, but for some reason I think I would rather see it in its original form. It isn't that illegal to purchase it now is it? lol

And if I'm being honest, I have to be in the mood for Epcot because of the educational nature of it! This past trip it felt like we spent way too much time there because we were with family members who enjoy educational, cultural experiences. I'll take MK any day or AK which kind of combines fun and education for me. And frankly the only things I really enjoy in World Showcase is the food, booze, Maelstrom and Illuminations! Although I do now really enjoy that French movie so I may be improving with age and widening my horizons!

EPCOT is also a park that requires me being "in the mood" to be there. lol. When I am down at Disney I plan on only using my imagination. Being educated sort of restricts that. I must say that EPCOT has its share of fun rides!
