What is it like in your city at the moment?

We're on Safer At Home* (*except for these 8,000 exceptions that mean you can go tons of places, pretty much whenever you want). I'm seeing more people out walking/running/biking, which is nice. All restaurants are carryout/delivery only. The grocery stores are still packed. People must be taking advantage of the time at home, because Lowes and Home Depot are packed too.

All of the stores have senior shopping hours, but down here in God's Waiting Room that actually made it MORE crowded. WalMart is only allowing online orders for 2 days at a time and they're filled almost as soon as they're released in the morning.

And I can't find tiny cans of Coke anywhere. I've seen more TP. :confused3

Oregon just allowed for self-pumping gas services for the next two weeks.....will this be the end of the "WE ARE OREGONIANS AND WE REFUSE TO BE TAXED AND SUBMIT TO THE TAXING CHORE OF PUMPING OUR OWN GAS" ........what do you expect when the University mascots are a duck and beaver. ...though it is a Disney duck at that !!!
I take it you do not speak of he who must not be named?

I just want this all to end because the one thing I have not done is get to visit with my four month old grandson who is starting to crawl and smiling and laughing so much now.

Hopefully things will end before he calls you “that nice person in my telephone screen.”

Unfortunately, we live in NYC - ( which the locals are now calling "the epicenter of hell"
But... today.. after weeks - a sense of "somewhat normal" - DD14 Bday and we went to L & B !!! View attachment 483801
Wow! I haven't been to that pizzeria since I lived over by Windsor Terrace. Nice to know it's still there and now you've given me an idea on how to spend part of this summer. Time to show DGD my old stomping grounds:).
I'm sure your DD had a memorable birthday dinner.

I am in Canberra, Australia. Cafes and restaurants are limited to takeaway meals and drinks. We have just been advised that if we can work from home we should be. As of midnight tonight, all beauty and nail salons will be closed. Food courts are closed. Gyms are closed.

What is it like where you are?
I live in a suburb outside Pittsburgh PA. Lockdown in place , people working from homes ( those that have not lost their jobs). I took a walk through the neighborhood. It is a virtual ghost town.

I live in a fairly quiet bedroom community near Berkeley, California. I am noticing a lot fewer people walking around in my street, but I have kind of a weird location (a dead end). When my kid and I went for a walk we did notice a lot of people on the street, as the stay at home order says getting exercise of shopping for food is fine.

Today we crossed the county line (not sure how legal it is) to go shopping including a place called Berkeley Bowl Market that specializes in produce. My wife kind of yelled at me when I got home because we already have a lot of vegetables, but I went there specifically for one thing my kid was asking for and once we were there I thought I should at least make it worth the half hour I spent waiting to get in. That's possibly been the most regimented entry I've had in a store. There was plenty of separation to the point where we were lined up in the street. If you asked for a cart, they were all freshly sprayed down with a disinfectant in a spray bottle. At entry everyone was encouraged to wear disposable gloves. They had signs saying that if an employee was blocking access to anything, please say something and they'll try to get out of the way to enforce social distancing. Still - it was impossible to keep a 6 ft distance from everyone, but we were all trying to minimize the time we walked past anyone.

Sacramento. As of the rest of CA essential only. The guy next door told me Wednesday he had a fever. I was just out front and could hear him coughing in his back yard. Tp is becoming a little more findable if you get to target, WinCo or Wal-Mart before 10. Happy they wised up and put a limit school just sent notices closed until May 1. We are the Indian casino capital and they are all closed

We live around 5 mins away - the pizza is still amazing !!
It was honestly the one place anywhere in our area that did not seem to feel the affects. They were packed ! Only sorry we didn't take home a pint of spumoni ! We live there in the summer !

Should add that people were still following social distancing, which was good to see

Went to Home Depot today to pick up an order, and just as I feared... the parking lot was packed. They have started metering people going in, so there is a line just to get in. No thanks. I just left, will go back on Monday when it's slow. I think retailers are going to get slapped. Most people aren't getting essential things, they are getting plants, home decor and knocking out home improvement projects.
