What is going on with the FP+ crackdown?

I've also seen plenty of people turned away, but I've seen plenty more go through. Regardless of the issue, fp lines can really get bunged up by blue Mickey's.
My favorite was people trying to pass off a screenshot as their actual MDE screen. They took the screenshot of it, then deleted the FP for another one. CM said your FP is for ***** and they were like No. See? CM swiped and was like Uh that's a screenshot. The guy was like Yeah I took the screenshot to prove I have it. LOL. When they left we laughed and he was like You have NO idea what people try to pull to get in the FP line.

... and I HAVE entered after it's turned blue too. The mickey turns blue when you are within your 15 minute grace period. You have no idea why people are being allowed in on a "blue mickey".

Sometimes the blue is for valid reasons like DAS, sometimes folks are just confused about their return time, maybe in their mind switching it with another so I think blue is important .... how about in these cases where there is a violation or for folks who have no FP+ at all for the particular ride all day, just trying to bully in, it turns RED. That helps the CM because they will automatically know that this person is not to talk their way in, no discussion, send them to GR and let them address whatever issue it is .......... if there is an issue. Takes pressure off the line and CM, particularly the DCP front line who can be less firm. For those trying to sneak in, they will likely just move on to the next ride.

Didn't MK add a Ticket Office in Liberty Square? Maybe they need to add a GR deep in parks so folks who have issues have something during the day.

Good idea with the red.

My Mickey has always been green during the 15 minute grace period. Regardless, I'm not opposed to a cm letting someone in on a blue for a legit reason. It's the arguing and hold ups I can do without.

Nobody wants to see RED, it's embarrassing ... maybe that alone will stop some of the behaviors.

I think RED could eliminate the arguments. That would signal guest and CM they need to go take it up with GR.

What color is the mickey now if someone attempts to use a FP for someone who did not scan into park? Doesn't something stop the person from getting into the FP line?

I'm so glad this loophole is closing. I don't have to stress out and feel like I'm some amateur who isn't doing my vacation right if I DON'T cheat the system. . . It was ridiculous that one could do it all in the first place.

As far as being embarrassed by the red. . . I don't know. Do people who try to exploit these loopholes have any shame?

I like the RED. Whatever, make it system based so that it happens when the FP is redeemed vs. letting people use the FP and locking their accounts later. That rubs me wrong. Not for the abusers but for those who make innocent mistakes. Because I think the innocent mistakes happen more often than the abusers.

I think a blinking red light is something that disney wouldn't want...rememwber they are super conscious of controlling incidents - it's bad for business - they downplay a lot of their policy enforcement.

Well I say red because it means stop so it's clear to all, not gonna work.

I don't know, like so many say, this action is not Disney like. Seeing folks always trying to pull something, hearing stories from DD worked at Soarin' before the third theater tell me stories .... I've always felt they were too soft on people. So the fact that they would go to locking out accounts, I believe this was more widespread than we think. While those who post here are a small percentage, many I've talked to come here for info but never join, and honestly there are always people looking for a bypass. This wasn't rocket science, folks can figure it out easily. I think this was bigger than we think.

Great discussion going on here. Some of you sound like you either work for Disney and have insider information or you have AP's, live in Orlando and visit quite often; your knowledge and help is much appreciated. Also, I just noticed that some of you are responding to just this post alone every 20-30 minutes...I want your job! :yay:

Good point.

I don't know. Blue Mickey's just cause people to argue with CM's, which causes holds ups at FP entry points. Most of the time the complaining guests get through anyways.

And locking accounts doesn't make guest argue? Especially if they have no idea why?!

OMG, I'm sorry but the horse is dead dead dead for now. We can't even agree on what is allowed and what isn't with regard to the Terms and Conditions. Why should guests be punished for Disney's pathetic technology?

NONE of us know what Disney's intent is. I'm sure we will find out eventually, but the constant complaining about how horrible and rotten guests are that are using Disney technology without error is really getting old.

This is Disney's fault for allowing this to happen. If they want to tie the FP to the admission media, they should do it and eliminate changes. If they want to keep the flexibility of changing FP for guests then they have to come up with a way that doesn't lock up innocent guests.

They are a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY

LOL! Well if you want to be home all day with a broken wrist I will gladly trade with you!

I'm guessing if Grandma has been in the park in the last few days they simply tell you FPs are not transferrable and that you have to use your own band. But if Grandma hasn't been in the park in a year and someone says "oh, sorry. She'll be in tomorrow" and then pulls the same act the next day, I'm thinking Grandma's FPs should get tossed...

Yea, because leaving Terms and Conditions and procedures up to the front line CMs always works out really well for Disney. The summer interns are the ones you want setting policy?

I think the summer interns would be the ones enforcing policy. But not sure that's the best idea either. I'm guessing a bouncer won't go over well either.

Ya think? I'm sure Disney can come up with better than either of these.
