I thought last night's episode was very helpful and churned up some good insights into the dynamics of the family.
Starting with the fact that Janelle had been married to Meri's brother and then she approached Kody and Meri about joining them. It seems that she was very attracted to Kody for a long time and wanted to be one of his sister wives.
It came to light that Janelle and Meri had differences about when to do the dinner dishes-Meri wanted them done right after dinner and the kitchen clean for the night. Janelle waited until the morning. This was one of the issues that was brought up. They both said it was petty now looking back.
Meri admitted that because Janelle had been married to her brother, it was awkward for Janelle to now be married to Kody, Meri's husband. Janelle was still invited to Meri's parents' house even after the divorce with Meri's brother. And it was stated that her parents liked Janelle.
It was never stated, and I think that it should have been, that all of them were young and immature and I am sure that the culture of their religion did not give them tools to deal with how to be a family in Polygamy and work through jealousy, etc. I think that those were important points that should have been stated by at least one of them.
Apparently, Meri was not one to hold in her feelings and that created issues in the family.
Christine seemed to enjoy seeing Meri stand up to Kody in his apology tour.
