Geez what is going on at WDW and MK in particular the last few days. First a Jungle Cruise boat sinks and now two PeopleMover trams ram into each other hard enough that it needed to be evacuated. It's like the rides themselves are giving up now that Chapek is in charge šŸ˜„ Oh and can't forget about the police swarming the Beach Club too.

First, This thread shouldn’t have been moved to the Community board It isn’t ā€œThe place for pictures, games & other fun threads for the Theme Parks Community!ā€. It belongs in the ā€œTheme Parks Attractions and Strategiesā€ thread where it was posted. It helps with people planning and learning about the parks. They even have it under their news postings for Parks info.

I have ridden the Peoplemover with my son when they crashed into each other before. It was such a violent hit that we were thrown forward into the seat in front of us. Not only one car hit us but about 5 or 6 of them repeatedly. I posted a thread with video a few years ago of all the cars backed up and them evacuating us. They need a breaking system when the system goes down and not just let them glide to a stop cause they go pretty fast and can glide far and fast before they stop especially when they go fast into the cars that had previously slowed down into the space mountain section like we were in before the system broke down.

Here is the thread I posted when it had happened to my family years ago and yet this is still a problem.

Nothing is going on things just happen.
Given the almost 50 years of MK 2 incidents is nothing. . . . . . .
Chalk it up to wear and tear.

Yeah I understand that rides break down on the regular, but Jungle Cruise boats don't usually sink and articles aren't written for every ride break down or malfunction so I assumed the PeopleMover was a bigger deal.

....and it sank, what? 5 inches? popcorn::

The cutting of maintenance budgets started with Eisner and has continued ever since. Throw in the parks age plus the added attendance and things are going to show wear and tear.
