On our arrival day I think we will swim and go to downtown disney for shopping and dinner. We are doing free dining so I want a counter service restaurant there. I figure we will end up doing plenty of eating at POR when we are tired. Which would you recommend with the dining plan. I was originally thinking Earl of Sandwich but I don't think their sandwichs come with fries or chips or anything (my family likes to have sides!). So then I though Wolfgang Puck Express. We are not very adventurous eaters. Like pretty traditional stuff. Suggestions or thoughts?

I don't do the dining plan, so I have no idea about credits or how they work.

But I'd say it really depends on what you're in the mood for. To me, sandwiches are more of a lunch thing, and I probably wouldn't be happy having one for dinner.

I do love the pizzas at Wolfgang Puck Express-- I've never had anything bad there. :)

WPE is a great CS option, so is EOS. Just depends on what your in the mood for, you can't go wrong with either one. Both are some of our favorite CS's in all of WDW.:thumbsup2

Just back from PO resort and we at our first night at Puck Express. The portions are HUGE, and you could easily split the meal between 2 people. This would allow you an extra counter service meal to use later. I had the pizza, and DH had the pasta (which came with a salad). Add in dessert, and we were FULL!

They're both good and practically next door to each other. Both have outdoor seating. At WPE, they bring your food to the table. At EoS, you wait at the counter for your food. Why choose when you can try both. Bring EoS to WPE. I don't think it's a problem if you're eating at WPE.

Either one is a great choice. You get alot of food for the money at either place, and you could reasonably share at WPE, that is what my mom and I would do.

you are allowed a dessert with your meal.. but we had no problem getting potato salad and fruit instead as sides.

We have eaten at both and they are very good, but EOS was a nice change of pace.

I would go with Earl of Sandwich and over there it's not that expensive for extra items like a soup, bag of chips and etc.

Another vote for WPE. Ate there twice on our August trip. If you're paying OOP, probably go with EOS. Loved the pizzas at WPE...everything was delicious & large portions.

This is one counter service with real plates and cups and waiters yes in deed no paper products unless you are taking your cups to go etc... the food is delish and I am an eater and was full when I left, matter of fact I ate lunch at WPE Sept 7th for the first time and said that next years trip this is a wonderful place to have dinner, the variety is great and the food is fresh,I have not been to EOS but I think that I would not pass up Rosemary Chicken, mashed Potatoes,Salad, Pasta, Pizza,Organic Teas, Frozen Yougart,Cookies, and Creme Brulee for a sandwhich and brownie,if I tried EOS I would pay OOP,now this is the one CS that I did leave a tip the waiters deserve it they bring you your food and refill your drinks, and clean your table,I saw a couple next to us that did not leave a penny I was upset  they had that server running around like a chicken with his head cut off.
