What is best item you have added to or put in your camper?

This is a great post:thumbsup2

I have a list of items, but the best will have to say is the "On Demand Hot Water" for the shower. I can now take a 20min (continous running) shower at near scodling temps!:scared1: The wife loves it!

2) Storage off the rear bumper for toys
3) Sirius
4) 5lb propane tank (for when I can't reach the main tanks)
5) Egg crate foam (2 layers)
6) Heated matress pad

After reading some of the other ideas, I will be added some more!

Is that water heater gas or electric? If electric, how much juice does it pull? I'v thought about that for the camper as well as the house, but I wondered how much power it would pull away from the rest of the camper.

Hey BRDof3,
It works off of propane & 2 D batteries, for the ignition. It is designed to work with a standard propane tank and garden hose for the water feed. I extend the gas line on the camper to the back bumber where the water heater is mounted. Now I removed the regulator from the water heater since I was using the regulated gas off the camper. My camper has an out door shower hook-up so I was able to run the hot water line from the on demand heater thru that opening to the hot water value in the shower. I capped the hot water line in the camper just in case I need to re hook it up if the on demand fails.
I bought it from Camping World, here is the link: If you do get it, I recommend the extended warranty.

shower curtain rods that flips out to make the shower larger. Nothing beats a nice, comfortable shower to start the day.:cool1:

With 5 of us, we don't even try the inside shower routine w/o sewer hookups. It would be great those time that we have the sewer, and would keep me from having to keep the water hear tank hot, and running down the propane supply when it isn't being used.

The shower should go thru the grey water tank so you shouldn't need sewer just grey water. I know here in CT most CGs have water/electric/grey water. I leave the grey water value open all the time. I am fortunate to have a rest area near me that has a dump station w/water in it. So we just leave the CG and dump at the rest area. I also use a "Flush King" to back fill the black water tank to clean it out good. They make and adapter that connects on the dump value that will reduce it to a garden hose so you can empty grey water.

Great thread!

For me it is a toss-up between the porta potty and a folding shelf by the door that holds a divided basket that holds and organizes miscellaneous stuff (keys, glasses, trail maps, etc.)

How do you like your Aliner? What do you use to pull it. Dh has a truck but I really don't like to drive it but dh sometimes is not a great driver when he is in strange territory.

Dh and I am thinking about one and would like to hear from someone who uses it. It would just be for dh and I since the boys are now 19 and 24.

Thanks for any info you have.

While I'm not the PP that you asked, we also have an Aliner so I'll give my .02. We love it. We're a family of 3 plus a furbaby (65 lb yellow lab, so about the size of a family of 4 as far as sleeping space goes). We tow with a Hyundai Santa Fe. I'm an admitted control freak, so I do much of the driving but on long trips we easily take turns and drive pretty long days. It tows really easily.

We keep a blog you may be interested in checking out: www.alineradventures.blogspot.com

Shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions!

My son can pour like that. Makes 4 years of engineering school worthwhile.

Never, never underestimate the advantages of being able to pour the perfect draught! The bartender at my favorite Irish bar has this ability and it has always served him well
