We are taking our first cruise ever, so sorry if this is a question that everyone knows already. I tried to do a search and couldn't find anything.
On the passporter's ship map, and on the Disney's website map, it shows alot of empty space on deck 7 (especially mid ship). I know on the other decks and in certain places on deck 7 there are staterooms in the middle sections, but in order to plan where our staterooms are, I would really appreciate knowing what was there...anything noisy? Anyone have any opinion of the area around @ 7570? Are they far enough from the laundry room? Any input from past cruisers would be great appreciated!!

We were in cabins 7116 and 7118 on our cruise last August. There was a door across the hall from our rooms. On the last night of the cruise, I watched as our room steward was putting luggage into this space. I also know they use the open space for other storage.

I would have to think that a lot of the empty space is taken up by equipment needed to run the pools and hottubs. Looking at the deck plans, it looks a lot of the empty space is directly under the pools

We were just in 7070 (same stateroom but port side). Whatever the space is used for, we never heard a noise from it at any time. You'll be fine for the laundry as well, as it's on the same (starboard) side as you, but much further aft.

It's a great location on the ship.

Thanks for input about the location. I was really worried....Silly me, I did a search on the actual staterooms and found alot of info about them after I posted LOL! I was a little nervous about the location, but now I am soo excited! I blame it on first cruise, prebooking jitters. I ended up with rooms 7563 and 7562, and have heard great things about the location. Thanks again!

There are storage spaces and staging areas for housekeeping on each deck and crew elevators forward and aft for luggage transport, room service, laundry transport, etc. The carts you see the stateroom hosts using have to be stored somewhere. The crew doesn't use the guest elevators.

I don't think anything on deck 7 is listed on the noisy room list on www.dcltribute.com.

Yay!..thanks for the info....We will be in 7570 next year on our first cruise ever. I have been reading these boards since I booked the cruise every night for a few hours. How addicting. I feel like I am on the cruise already just seeing everyone's pictures and reading their trips. My first post was to get the Countdown clock! :teeth:

On our last cruise we were standing in the area outside the Rockin D-Bar, comedy club area talking to some friends when the wall(a secret door) opended and two crew members walked out. I glanced in before the hidden door shut and it was a passage way. I assume they have may hidden rooms and passage ways all over the ship. After the door shut, If you did not know it was there you would have never noticed it...smjj
