Quaint These two 7-feet giants have been striking the time on Gaunt's clock since 1842 in the Royal Arcade, Melbourne. They were carved from clear pine and modelled on the figures erected in Guildhall, London, in 1708 to symbolise the conflict between the ancient Britons and the Trojan invaders. Mythology tells of the giants Gog and Magog (also known as Corineus and Gogmagog) having been captured in battle by the Trojans and made to serve as porters at the gateway of an ancient palace on a site later occupied by the Guildhall. It is traditional for Gog to stand to the north and Magog to the south.

Bridge, specialty coming home from a shore trip we were stuck while the bridge was up. I was amazed because the boat was small



This one covers specialty Bridge and Historical. Pennsylvania has quite a few covered bridges and I have just started looking for them. This is the Poole Forge Covered Bridge also known as Yohn's Mill Bridge in Lancaster county. President James Buchanan met or proposed to his fiancée at this bridge but she died before he became president.

It has been a very busy year and I haven't spent much time on the computer. I was wondering if there was a summer scavenger hunt and just found it! Kicking myself for not checking sooner as there were a lot of things I could have taken earlier in the summer. But after I get organized with my pictures ( what I love about these hunts was I really kept up with organizing my photos) I will start posting, I was glad to see we could go back to January.

Princess thank you for starting this, and as usual your pictures make me hope to get to Australia some day!

Tazdev, sorry to hear about your Dad, glad things look optimistic though, and I'm glad to see you here!

Python Fan I also saw humpback whales bubble net feeding in Juneau in 2009, its an amazing thing to watch!
