What I'm Focussed On - Scavenger Hunt 2015

Dragonfly
This was taken at Heifer Ranch in Perryville, AR. There are actually two dragonflies in this picture (the one at the top is intentionally out of focus). I didn't realize until I got home and was looking at this picture that I managed to lock focus on the lower one behind the stem.

Baseball in flight*
This is a picture of the Arkansas Travelers vs. the Midland RockHounds taken at Dickey-Stephens Park. I needed a faster shutter speed to freeze the motion of the bat and ball, but I was trying to keep my ISO as low as possible.

Garden

It was a frosty morning in Melbourne the other day. The Thyme in my garden was looking particularly pretty.

And because it is winter time, there are only weeds in my garden!

"The Fantastikals are the fantasy creatures that bring an element of wonder to the Bristol Renaissance Faire. They do not speak, communicating non-verbally through eye-contact, gestures, body movements and emotion to interact with their surroundings."

Beautiful, @PythonFan888 . I don't think we have a RenFaire equivalence in Australia so I always look at these sorts of pictures with interest. Thanks for sharing.

Late July of every year, the City of Melbourne hosts as "Open House". There are over 100 buildings that are open to the general public for inspection. These can be corporate offices, buildings of architectural significance and government buildings.

So, in the spirit of Capital Dome*, this is the State Parliament building of Victoria. Yes. That is the Queue of people on the steps of Parliament House wanting to go in outside the building.

There is an Emblem on the tiled floor of the foyer.

The original plans for Parliament House did include a Dome.....that pressed metal ceiling in the foyer is where the Dome would have gone. About 15 years ago, one of the Victorian Premiers did try to finish the building but never got any support in Parliament. Sadly, the costs for completing this dome are prohibitive now.

Believe it or not.....the paintwork and gold leaf in the ceiling is original from 1855. It's my entry for the category of Antique*

I also headed to Tasma Terrace. These 3 story houses were built in Victorian* period and show the Filigree ironwork of this period.
