What if you want to stay longer?

So what is the process for extending a CP into the next season? I am not even there yet, so I have no idea if I'll want to stay longer, but maybe I will and I want to know what to do.

What do you have to do to stay on? Do you reapply or just ask your supervisor? What all is involved? Do they usually let you or is it hard to get your time extended? Do you have to move out and then move back in? WOuld you have to find some place to live meanwhile?

About a month and a half prior to your departure date, they usually ask for extension requests. This is all handled electronically via The Hub, the company's internet portal. If your record card is generally clean, they will probably grant your extension request into the following season (so in your case, up into May of 2009). By extending, you also have the opportunity to transfer lines of business and try a different role on for size.

The decision of whether to grant you an extension request is done a few weeks ahead of your departure date, so the entire process is pretty seamless. At some point prior to your original departure date, Price Management will hold a brief re-check-in process where you will be assigned a new apartment and a new housing ID. This should be blocked as off on your schedule, as you will be starting and completing your move on this day. Like the initial check-in process, you can request certain complexes or apartment sizes, and Price Management's extension letter does mention the possibility of being able to pair you up with one other person of your choice, if you ask. During the entire process, you will continue to live in Disney Housing.

Finally, if you move lines of business, you'll begin training in your new area a week or two after your original departure date.

Hopefully this helps!

If you decide to try another role for your extended period can you still keep your original role or do you switch over without the possibility to do both?

Hopefully that makes sense. Basically can you do two roles, or do you have to choose one or the other?

You'll have to choose one or the other. You can only be statused (and scheduled) at one area at a time. Having said that, you could keep your training current in your previous area, and pick up shifts if you'd like.

So essentially you could choose a new role and be scheduled into that full time. Then in your free time you could pick up shifts in your new role as well as your old role? That's pretty neat that you are able to do that!

Just be aware that the role available (to switch to) are limited. Also, your record card has to be really good to be able to transfe (and even to extend).
