What if a ride is closed by rain during your fp time?

So we did what we were told and booked our FPs. We leave Tuesday. What happens if we have a BTMRR FP, for example, between 12-1, and during that time it is closed for rain? Do we get another FP from somewhere or should we go on the app and do it ourselves? Can we just get a voucher or paper FP for later?

On our last visit Test Track was closed during our ride time. We received an email message telling us the ride was down and were given a list of rides in which we could choose one alternative Fastpass+ selection (all still within EPCOT). I believe we had the remainder of the day to use our new Fastpass+.

What happened to us in oct at MK: we had FP for SM. the ride went out and they sent me an e-mail saying they had activated our bands to work for one of ( app) 6 other rides (big rides, like Splash, BTMRR, etc). We could ride one of those rides (I think in the exact time frame or it could have been remainder of day) OR wait until SM was back up and could us FP for when it was up. It worked out well for us as we were standing next to splash so just rode that.

We were at Disney from 6/7/14 until 6/14/14. It rained a good deal and many of the rides were closed for a short period of time. If the ride is still closed when your FP begins, then you will get a FP good for ANY FP attraction within that park. You can choose to wait and use it when the ride reopens, or use it for a different ride. There was no restriction on which ride we could use the FP. The bad thing about this system was during our FP time for Big Thunder Mountain RR, Splash Mountain was closed for technical reasons. Everyone came over to Big Thnder Mountain RR, which increased the FP line to over 30 minutes (estimated by the ride attendant). We could not use our FP on this ride or we would have missed our dining reservations. Very frustrating.

No smart phone for this grammy so how would we get notified if our passes are not good for the time we have them issued?

We had SDMT FP+ when it was raining and they told us to return when it stopped raining and they would honor it. We came back well after our FP+ time and sure enough we were able to light the lamp green and ride.

I have been here since Wednesday and three days I have received the email for one of my FP being canceled because the ride is closed. They say you can use it on the original ride if it is running or choose from a list in the email. The FP is good until park close.

well, i have a smartphone but sometimes i miss my email notifications

does any1 know if you can request to get a text instead?

Notification will come via e-mail, but you would also be notified when you went to ride the ride that is currently shut down. You would just have an "open" FP+ on MDE for you to use as you wish.

If you want to be notified early, have your phone on and your email notifications sent to push. If you don't need/want to be notified early, just find out when you get there.

Just returned Sat night from an 8 night stay and this happened to us so many times! As posted above, we were able to use the FP at another attraction or were able to use it any time that day once the original attraction was up again.
The biggest challenge this posed for us was park hopping. Many times we were planning to hop but couldn't if we wanted to ride the downed attraction. After 5 days of this happening everyday, we went to guest services and they set up anytime fast passes during the next 3 days for all the attractions we had missed. If the ride goes down for mechanical reasons they have paper fast passes available to give out that will be good until the end of the month. So ask at the ride and if they cant accommodate what you need, go to guest services and be very polite. The negative to scheduling fast passes 30 or 60 days out is not knowing what the weather is forecasted to be. Many of our fast pass choices were attractions closed by rain such as BTMRR, 7DMT, Splash Mnt, and TT.
