What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Picked up our car at 5:00 p.m. on 5/14 at MCO EA. It was chock full of PT Cruisers and Rendevouz. There were also tons of midsize and fullsize sedans. Didn't see any minivans. We took the only Jeep Liberty - the car didn't have keyless entry and could only be opened from the driver's door which was a pain - also it was a real gas guzzler.

We filled up the tank at WDW but was charged for a gallon of gas upon return - that's the first time this has happened. Cost us $5 more.

Sunday 5-16 630 pm

EA only had 1 pontiac Grand AM, the rest of the cars were the older Chevy Malibus.

Full size reserve was full of Chevy Impalas.:wave2:

BUMP Again!

C'mon people. Update the info.

Has anyone ever tried to upgrade from EA to Full Size at the counter inside the garage when the EA picks were not good? I just wondered if they would change your reservation and only charge a few dollars difference (it's usually about $10 or $20 more on a weekly rental).

5/26 around 6pm there were 12 PT Cruisers and 1 Malibu. Grabbed an Alero from the Intermediate aisle.

/
11am on A side Friday May 28th - filled with everything but luxury and mini vans. 3 different types of SUV;s , full size, intermediates, many PT cruiser's. The only thing different on Exec. asile was the Buick Rendouvous.

Thursday night 5/28 about 8:30 pm

Emerald Aisle had 3- Aleros

Emerald Executive had 1-Bonneville, 2- Impalas, 3- Monte Carlos

That was our selection. We took the Bonneville .

We got to MCO at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. There were only three pick up trucks left! I had a hard time finding anyone who could help, the lot seemed empty. But after some conflicting information from two attendents, we finally picked a Chrysler from the Executive Aisle.

Sunday afternoon, May 31, around 2:30pm. A side of the terminal. We chose a Chevy blazer and there were many different cars to choose from. .

nybyrne and Chuck are you executive elite members or did the National employees extend a courtesy upgrade?

Under the old system full size cars were (almost) always available on the aisle. Not sure if I can count on that remaining.

#1 Has anyone noticed a difference in A vs B side EA at MCO? Is either one better than the other?

#2 If there is not a good selection on one side in the EA, can you have the garage attendant call and check the other side to see what their selection is? If not, can I walk to the other side to see for myself?

Thanks.

it may vary ...

but when we have gone to orlando, we arrive at A terminal

usually, will check out what is available on the EA there and if there is nothing that suits our "taste" or "whim" for that day, we trek over to the B terminal side of MCO and choose a car there

we have found the selection seems to be better on the B side but once again we are speaking of past experiences and things may have changed since they have implemented the new EA

upon returning it does matter which side you return the car to so we usually return it ot the A side

so the answers to your questions....

1 YES

2 YES ( you can walk over to B side or vice versa )

LewisC No I am not an executive elite member. I was simply extended a courtesy upgrade. A nice surprise.

No, I am not a Executive Member.

I requested a full size car and since there were none available only intermediates, the attendant working the aisle said take from here (Executive Line)

That is how I got the Bonneville.

There were no full sized cars on the Emerald Reserve aisles?
With a full size reservation, that is where you should have been looking.

just back Side A ( picked up friday 10:30 am returned monday 8 :30 am , checked the lot both times )

lots of cars on both executive and emerald aisle...

EA had PT cruisers, impalas, aztecs malibus plus the other usual intermediate cars, monte carlo, saturn L300

Executive

rendevous, equinox, a lot of bonnevilles, grand prixs century newer malibus (but for some reason the keys were missing in the door, they said someone walked off with them and they would have the locksmith rekey, but when we went back monday the car was still sitting there keyless ) century, impala, monte carlo

from what we saw, it would seem there is still a chance to get "upgrades" on EA eg aztecs, monte carlo ( it was not just intermediate there ) which makes sense since they used to place cars on the aisle according to over supply

definately on Executive since you are charged intermediate price

they had plenty of cars on the Full Size aisle too, we checked that out too just to see what they thought full size was

still not sure what Chuck PA did, but it sounds like he was saying he had an Emerald Reserve for a fullsize, thus of course he would not find that in the EA

if chuck checks his invoice it will probably say "premium car class" since bonneville is one up fromr gran prix which is full size

it would seem that EA selection is open to interpretation by "national" workers onsite when you get there

Side notes,

( 1 ) the first vehicle we had, we had to return on saturday, it was just plain dirty inside and we found cherrios and cheese nips and colour markers in the back console seat pull downs

there was also no windshield washer fluid in it

this was the first time i have ever experienced this, but the manager who took care of us, said sometimes people return cars to other than the "return area" ( which thinking about it now would be difficult to do since the car we did pick did have a "tag" on the mirror )

the manager did ask us if we had called in and then went on to say if you are ever dissatisfied with a car ( performance or otherwise ) that you can actually call in and they will arrange a "delivery" to you ( not sure how that works but it seemed they would come to you to do the exchange )

( 2 ) side B did not seem to have as good a selection this time, not very many cars in either EA or Executive Selection

( 3 ) lines at Alamo were LONG on Side A, we looked at it and said they should rename it "Stallamo"

( 4 ) national line on side B was longer than i have ever seen but manageable

still find Emerald Club very convenient

Lawgs,
EA had PT cruisers, impalas, aztecs malibus plus the other usual intermediate cars, monte carlo, saturn L300

Monte Carlos are not intermediates, they are considered Standards (full size two doors).
