What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Mostly Chevy Malibus (old style I think) and a few Monte Carlos and Grand Ams. We grabbed a Grand Am ......4 door, maroon, 555 miles and smelled brand new. It was tagged Executive EA but that was crossed out and regular EA was checked. No suv's, minivans or full-size (like Intrepids etc.)

We arrived about 2 p.m. on 8/23. Saw a few Aztecs, PT Cruisers. We picked an Aztec with 5 miles (brand new!) on it. Car was nice except that the air conditioning took a long time to cool the back seat (no ceiling vents or vents in the rear). Lots of cargo space.

Arrived B side on Wednesday, September 8 at around 1:00pm. There were only a few cars on the EA. A Saturn, couple of old Style Malibu's and a few four-door Grand Am's. Took a Grand Am with only 17 miles. : )

Also arrived on the B side on Sept 9th. Same choices as sargenca.
We picked a brand new Chevy 4 door with also 17 miles on it.

We arrived on the B terminal side around 6:30 pm. I was very disappointed with the selection on the EA, as I was the last time I was at MCO. There were 3 cars: 1 4-door grand am, a chevy classic, and some other car that looked slightly larger than the classic, but smaller than the grand am. We took the grand am which had plenty of trunk space.

September 17 5 pm or so. B side

Two white cars. One was the Malibu or Chevy Classic not sure what the other one was. I also had a reservation with Hertz and just turned around and took the Hertz bus where I got a FREE upgrade to a convertible (and I was already using a free day coupon!)

don't you get charged by National for not showing up for your ressie?

dudspizza, You took the post right out of my fingers. ;) I would of thought you would get charged too. National has your ressie for EA, through your membership = they have ALL your info. :earseek: I would be seriously concerned about getting stuck for at least 1 day. :hyper:

Anyone know for sure? MKY princess:

I called Nat'l a few months ago. I was told if there was a no-show- fee it would say in my confirmation. The Nat'l rep said the no show fee is not charged for full-size and smaller. The only time I've seen in any of my confirmations was for a mini-van. I've never seen it with intermediate or full size.

arrived 6:00 pm friday 9/24 B side.

It was busy. Only about 8 cars on the aisle. All 4 door mailbu's and classics and 1 monte carlo, which we took. Works great for just DW and I.

There were only four cars on the emerald aisle. Two Chevy blazers and two pontiac aztecs. I think they were all brand new. We picked a burgundy aztec that only had 5 miles on it. When we ended up dropping it off in Nashville, (unplanned due to hurrricane Jeanne) it had just over 1000 miles on it. National was very nice in helping us in the situation. They charged us $125 extra to drop it off in Nashville. I thought that was very reasonable considering there were absolutely NO FLIGHTS available and we wanted to get the heck out of there!

I was totally impressed with the Emerald Aisle. DH was really impressed too. I will definately be doing it from now on.

Sept. 18th at 2:00 pm there were no cars left on the aisle B side. We had a minivan reserved and their were only one left for us to choose from. The rental car lots are were pretty empty all around. I really enjoyed the Emerald Reserve service and can't wait to use it for next years trip.

9:45 p.m. on Friday, the 17th, there was one Sebring two door on the EA. I went inside the booth and told the attendant I had a reservation for EA and she told us to take any car on the Executive Aisle. There were lots of them. We took a Chevrolet Equinox SUV which was very nice. We enjoyed driving it around all week. We could have had a Cadillac or some other nice GM car but I wanted to be sitting up higher. Also, there was only one vehicle on the Intermediate Aisle.

Thanks DJT,

Did you go to the booth at the end of the parking lot or back inside the terminal?

The booth was a few steps from the Emerald Executive Aisle (Executive Aisle was across from the EA). We didn't go back inside the terminal.

DJT, you were lucky, that is not the norm for National's attendants. We arrived in July to find the EA section empty, and a couple of cars in the executive aisle. Hoping that they would let us choose from the executive aisle, I urged hubby to go to the kiosk and he did, but was bluntly told to go to the intermediate lane and choose a car. So that didn't work for us. I give up on EA, and choose a full size car ER for our October trip.
