What have you done that you swear no one else has done at Disney!

This magical moment happend this past Nov. Dh and I were at the Poly getting ready to watch Wishes and there was another couple standing near us waiting for it too. About 5 mins before show time a girl came up and asked if we were waiting to see the fireworks, we all said yes and she offered to take us out to the lagoon in a boat to watch from the water, seems that they had just had someone cancel there cruise at the last minute and the boat was already to go so we went!!! It was awesome and we will remember it for a lifetime. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We were the only people on the boat ride in Mexico. It kind of felt real erie and cool at the same time.

On our November trip, we wound up being the only folks in the Princess Room at the Toontown Hall of Fame. The girls got to have their picture made with the 3 princesses together- Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora. The pictures turned out great, and my 4 yo DD loved getting all their attention.

This isn't something no one had done before - but ironic that after 9 trips, I got to do both of these on the same day. First, my brother and I were picked to be part of the ship crew in the battleship reenactment at the Backlot Tour. Then that afternoon, I made it into the "hotseat" at WWTBAM. Thought it was pretty neat that after going year after year and never getting picked for anything that I got to do both in one day!! And this was a special trip where my brother and mom went along with me and DH (the three of us hadn't been to Disney together since I was 12 and brother was 9 back in the mid-80's) and I was five months pregnant with our first baby!! Was the best trip we've ever had...so far!!!

During the 25th anniversary celebration--we received so many magical moments certificates for things such as playing broomball with some cm's, hula-hooping, and just for being married (it was our honey-moon). I'm sure others have experienced the same, but for that moment, it feels so very personal. :goodvibes
Dh had a conference during Easter last year and I tagged along. :teeth: He sort of got the raw deal of working for the week while I got to play in the parks :rotfl: I decided to stay on Tom Sawyer's Island all day. Camped out on the rocking chair, had some drinks and snacks--rocked the day away people watching and reading. When time came to get booted off the island (closing) --my dh would be waiting for me in the front of park. That was fun to do!

So do any of you lucky ducks have inside tips on getting picked for stuff. Also - how hard are the paint brushes on tom sawyer island to find? My kids want to do this, but I don't really want to have to spend the whole day at it!! We are taking them for the 1st time in Sept. DH and I have been twice before we had kids, but never had anything special like this stuff happen!!

Don't know how unusual this is, but it is a magical memory for us. Our last trip down we stayed at POFQ. Went to the lounge one night and they were auditioning new acts that week. They had a singer/guitarist there that night who was really good and we were enjoying his show when an off duty CM came and sat with us. She was waiting for her boyfriend, who was the chef at the hotel resteraunt at the time, to get off work. I don't know what came over us, but when he started singing California Dreamin' - she and I started singing back up! There were only a few of us in the lounge and the guitarist seemed to enjoy having us join in. Anyway, we ended up turning his show into a sing-along, and now everytime I hear that song I start Disney World Dreamin'!!

Again, we're probable not the only ones, but the moment sticks out for us:

My nephew and I waited patiently for a drink cart to open, and since we were the first ones there and my nephew was so patient, he got to "open" the cart over the walkie talkie and he got a certificate and a free pop. :thumbsup2

On our trip last month we were at ropedrop at EPCOT. I told my hubbie to head straight to Soarin as fast as he could and the kids and I would catch up. Of course the CMs know that is where everyone in the crowd is headed - so they keep the crowd back and ask everyone to walk-not-run behind them. Well, we lost my hubbie in the crowd but managed to find him - and "excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, pardon me" up to the front of the line where he was waiting for us. The CM at the ride was the one that lead the crowd in and my hubbie chatted with him the entire walk.
"Oh here's your family - let's get this ride opened!" And he lead us on in to the ride.
We were the "Family of the Day"! We rode the ride on our own - sat front and centre, and left the crowd behind.
Of course this also meant that the rest of the rides etc. that morning were still empty. The crowd was still lined up at Soarin". We managed to finish everything at EPCOT really quickly and had time for a snack before the World Showcase was even open! Pretty cool.

:cool1: Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite ride and I rode in more than 10 times in a row in Sept. 2001. My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary at WDW Sept 8-22, 2001. On 9/18 my husband wanted to stay in so I went to the Magic Kingdom for EE night. I headed for BTM and rode it for 16 straight rides without having to get off. I only got off because I thought maybe I should do something else so I headed across the park to Space Mountain. I rode that 3 times but they made you get off each time and you had to walk all the way around and back through in order to ride it again. After the third time I said "Forget about this!!" and headed back over to BigThunder Mountain where I got to ride it another 12 times without having to get off before they closed. WOW, I got to ride my favorite ride for 28 times in one evening. Talk about a once in a lifetime dream come true!! :rotfl2: :cheer2: :earsboy:

In April of 2002, we did something similar. I counted 14 times in a row, then 17 times. Sometimes we had to get off and walk around, othertimes we didn't. It was awesome! I don't think we'll ever see long hours and short lines like that again!

I have loved reading all of these and have been reminded about many things that have happened to us on our trips.
Some of these probably happened to other people, but they are rare!

(if you don't want to read all of them, at least read this one)
~ This one I like the most. We stay at the Grand Floridian every time we go to WDW and we have been fortunate to get the same room three times in a row. (it is a corner room, one of the best :thumbsup2 ) Anyways, this past summer we were checking in and noticed some keys in back of the desk and asked about them. Turns out they were the first keys that the GF used for the rooms and what Roy Disney used when the GF opened. Then, one of the CMs asked us what our room # was, and got the key for that room, and GAVE IT TO US!!!!!!!!!! (it now sits proudly in a frame in our living room :goodvibes )

~ We were on Splash Mountain, and just as we were tipping over the edge to go down the drop, the ride stops, and then a voice comes on saying there were some technical difficulties, and that they we be fixed momentarily. It was a great view, but unfortunatly those of us who had cameras with us are a bit afraid of hieghts, :rotfl:. Looking back now, I really wish we had taken a picture.

~One time my sister and I were walking around right before the fireworks, and it was absolutely BARE in adventureland. We even saw a little cat walking around.

~ That same night, we walked onto Aladdin's magic carpets and rode on it just as the fireworks were starting. We stayed the highest we could go and kept whipping our heads around everytime we went around.

~ Right before the rope to the rest of MGM in the morning, it started to DOWNPOUR, and I guess some people were afraid of a thunderstorm where it looked almost like night time at 9:00 am because when we walked out of one of the stores with our ponchos, everyone who was previously waiting at the rope, WAS GONE!!! We took this chance and walked as fast as we could to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. It was a flash flood and we had water flowing completly over our feet, but we were determinded. By the time we got to the ride, we were the only ones in sight. We walked right on about three times before people started coming back outside. Storms don't last long at WDW, lol.

Sorry for the length, but I thought these moments were unusual and are fun to look back on. :goodvibes

Oh, thank you! :goodvibes

I like the first on too! I read we had read somewhere that they kept the keys behind the desk, so last time we looked. It pays to pay attention and ask questions. Especially in Disney ;)

Last summer my sister, nephew, my son, and I had a private bus ride from BW to MK, or should I say WL. The bus driver asked us if we were going to the MK. I said yes, but we'd really like to go to the WL. It was thundering and lightening and I didn't want to have to get on and off another bus with two small kids and a stroller. The bus driver drove us straight to the WL! It was such a magical moment! We also got to watch Wishes during our bus ride! It was a Disney moment I'll never forget!

We honeymooned at the Poly in June 1977. One evening we went to the seafood restaurant at the Golf Resort(now Shades of Green). A strolling violinist played "Tara's Theme" from Gone With the Wind to us.

Not the only ones but the funniest memory I have is from the actors who used to perform before Fantasmic. They were hillarious! I don't exactly remember what they were doing but they completely wrapped my DH in tape. It was hillarious!

We just got back and they had EMH at the MK from 12-3a.m. It was so awesome riding the Haunted Mansion at 3a.m. in the morning!

My daughter's favorite character one year was Esmeralda from Hunchback, but she wasn't one of the characters who gave autographs in the park. On the way out of the Hunchback show, I asked a cast member if he knew of anywhere in the park where Esmeralda appeared. He offered to take the kid's autograph books backstage and got both Esmeralda and Quasimodo to sign them. The kids were thrilled.

We weren't the only ones to see this, but we happened to be present as a group of college age CMs from Norway at Epcot were celebrating their last day. They waded into the pool and waterfall that cascades from the ride, and had a great time splashing each other! It was fun to see.

We were at SWW last year and the stormtroopers that you see walking on top of the turnstyles singled our kids out and talked about them to everyone! It was so great! We even got it on video! Another trip a CM came up to my DS and said "we are going to celebrate your birthday today!" and put a birthday button on him! It was so exciting for him! He kept telling everyone that it wasn't really his birthday but we were "pretending" (he was 2 at the time)! Also the Sandpeople at SWW last year came over and had a mock gun fight with my DS (3). He was in his glory! :teeth:
