This was back in Oct 99'. My aunt and I were getting to leave the e-night. There were hardly any people left. We were walking past the Castle and the was a white gazbo, and I saw Chip standing there as a statue (no Handler around) I said to my aunt , do you think he's real?? She said no. But I thought he looked too real to be a statue. So I went up to him and tickled his belly. Chip Came to life and I then had sign my autograph book and then my aunt was getting ready to take our picture. When from behind Goofy came up and scared her. She had thought it was her son. So then goofy and chip got into the picture. The only downer was my eyes were close in the photo. I was 29 then but I felt like was 6 yrs old. It was one coolest things that happened to us.

My 9yo DD lost her tooth on Splash Mountain and held on to it until we got to the big drop. Right at the bottom she made a wish and threw it into the water! I wonder if they ever clean out the ride? Now they will find lots of change and a tooth.

It was July 4th, 1975 (Bicentenial year) and Disney was PACKED. There were so many people there that they shut the gates for the day. It was about 10:00 AM and we were getting on Pirates of the Carribean and my dingy sister lost her flip flop. It got caught in the filter and shut the ride down for the entire day. She walked around all day in socks my parents bought her there.

Here's something I think is unique to a WDW visit...
MK closed at 8pm and I was still hungry for magic. DTD had been done a hundred times and at the last minute of driving to DTD, I made a left turn onto a grassy "road". I was in search of the retired 20,000 Leagues Submarines I heard were left abandoned in the woods. Driving a 4runner, the "off roading" wouldn't be a problem and if I got caught, I'd plead "dumb tourist". The dirt road winded in the woods for a long time, it was dark so I drove slow incase of wildlife. After one turn, I found myself BEHIND MK with a beautiful view of Cinderella's Castle.
I pressed on... I then came across an abandoned area of old concrete 1 story buildings. On the wooden door was a sign "WED Enterprises". I wish I'd taken a photo but my "still camera with flash" was at home and I only brought a camcorder for the trip (no flash). The never ending dirt road ended on a highway near "Vista Employee Credit Union" backstage. I never found the Subs but enjoyed my adventure. Thank goodness I was never caught!

Ok, this may sound weird, but at the time, it truly felt "disney". I was on a trip with my family and my fiance and my mom really wanted to go hear the bit about DVC. After we listened, we got a free ticket to go to Beaches and Cream. While we were walking to the restaurant, we nearly tripped over a fluffy bunny rabbit. It may have been sick or just tame, I don't know, but we all petted it! It made me feel like snow white or something.

I'm sure other people have done this, but....

as a CM back in 1991, I would watch the DTD fireworks every night from the balcony of my apartment (I'd have to lean over the railing, but it was still really cool). I sure do miss working for The Mouse.

Watched the parade from te roof on the porch over the entrance to The Country Bear Jamboree.....

Me too though I don't remember the exact building -- it was somewhere in Frontierland.

It was during our December 1997 trip to WDW (still my best trip there even though I've been back a few times since and I'm hoping February 2006 will beat it!). Eleven family members, spread across four generations, were attending MVMCP and were on a curb in Frontierland waiting to see the special Christmas Party parade that night. One of the CM's working the parade asked us if it was our first trip to WDW -- nine of us had been there before but my DS's great-grandparents (my grandparents), thankfully had not been.

Though she was a bit hesitant (I think she was looking for a group of all first-timers), the CM escorted us up to the roof viewing area where there were some plain metal chairs that (I think) were very slightly cushioned for us to sit on. She stayed with us the whole time we were up on the roof -- about 45 minutes total -- and was just as nice as could be to us and especially to my two DS's (then DS5 and DS2) and also did a perfect job of balancing the friendly discussion with us vs. allowing us some family bonding time as she knew this was a special moment for us. We were so pleased with her sprinkling of pixie dust we ended up taking a photograph of her with our boys.

Great memory and thanks to the OP for causing me to think about that moment!

Honest to God, took the grandkids one year, I got so exited after we parked that the I took the kids to the tram AND LEFT THE CAR RUNNING. Came back 5 hours later....car off, NO keys in my pocket, in a panic....Found a Disney security guard who said, "so your're the one who left the car running?...here are your keys, sir!"

Not sure anyone else was ever this dumb....Ted

Thanks for the laugh! I've gotten as excited, but I'm sure glad I've never driven to the MK. Otherwise, you wouldn't be the only one who's done it, I bet.

We were let into Epcot through the international gateway about a half hour after park closing, because we got stranded after a long dinner at Cape May Cafe and didn't realize Epcot was closed. It was great, being able to walk around after everyone had left the park and take pictures without everyone around. (we did find a few stragglers still having a few drinks at the Rose and Crown).


Riding Buzz about 20 times in a row (with me being pregnant and everyone else doing the roller coasters). The park was emptying out (near closing), so they let me keep riding without having to get off, and we shared a bunch of tips for the good targets to hit. Consequently, I did get the 999,999 points one time

I haven't read through the whole thread....but here are some things we've gotten to do:
Ride ToT with just the two of us in the elevator (twice)
Meet Snow White and Alice in their SpectroMagic outfits
Meet Cogsworth, Lumiere, Beast and Belle together
Were taken on a guided tour of the Tree of Life Gardens by a CM
Watched Wishes from the Picture Spot behind the Wedding Pavillion at the GF
almost forgot this one:
I was rescued off the TTA by Reedy Creek Fire Dept when they E-stoppped the ride...

I'm sure there are more, I'll have to go back through my notes...

A couple of cool things that have happened to us.

We got to sit in the VIP section on the Fronteirland Bridge with Regis (he was really nice and making all of us laugh while we were waiting for the parade)

Hung out with my fave bus driver from DTD to CSR taking a LONG way back. He's the one that always has the eeyore that he lets some kid hold while he drives and tells all the disney jokes. That day we just had a really great chat about life

Rode the TTA with my cousing about 10 times in a row by ourselves!

watched the night fireworks almost every night for 5 months

last summer our daughter was the "gate keeper" at AK. She was the first person inside the park, got a cert. saying it was HER DAY at A.K., got a pic with her and a CSR, she also got 6 Fast passes for her and the wife and i that were good at any attraction at any time. Latter that SAME DAY at MGM, she was picked out of the crowd to announce over the parks sound system, the start of the afternoon parade.

One year at MVMCP we were the only ones on Jungle Cruise. After talking to us for a minute and realizing we had been on JC about 100 times, the CM asked us if we would like to hear some interesting facts, rather than the usual script and corney jokes.(which we also love BTW)
It was great! She let my DS(5), "drive" the boat, while she told us all kind of stuff, and even stopped in a couple spots to show us hidden mickey's, and in one case a hidden minnie!

Sorry if someone asked already, but would you mind sharing some of those facts and hidden mickey spots?

One night while having dinner at the Coral Reef we had the manager come to our table to tell us our meal was already paid for. We had just announced we were pregnant prior to the trip and our best friend (who was also best man for our wedding) had called the restaurant and paid for our dinner. What a sweetie!

The best I have is I got to ride the boat back from MK....all by myself!!
We went to Cindys Royal Table for the first seating of the day. We didn't want to stay at MK that day and got on the boat to head back. It was at capacity going over to MK and it was just DW, DS(4), DS(5) and me. Of course a couple of CMs and chip and dale...who we got all to ourselves...

Sorry to steal your thunder, Dpuck, but we share that experience, too!

We were staying at the CR (thanks to SoG construction), and on our last day we wanted to ride a few things at MK during EMH (EE then) before heading over to Epcot. So we walked to the MK, rode Space and Buzz, then headed out of the park. We saw a ferry coming in (packed, of course!), so we decided to use that to get to the TTC instead of the monorail. Well, all those hundreds of people streamed off...and we were the ONLY family to board for the return trip! The only other people on the boat were Pluto and his handler. He had us in stitches, pretending to jump over the side when we started singing "It's a Small World", etc. We had a very nice conversation with the CM and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We have some great pictures and a wonderful memory, too!
