What has Disney removed that makes you the saddest?

We first went to MK in spring of '82 -- Epcot wasn't completed yet. Obviously things were WAY different, but I have a whole list..... Horizons, World of Motion, the original Journey into Imagination, the open area in front of Spaceship Earth (I know they thought things would sell much more completely than they did and made too many "monuments); the original fast pass, River Country, more space at Downtown Disney -- fortunately we nearly always used the bus system unless we drove for the day (had annual passes when we lived down there), and I could name more.
The simple straightforward way of touring Disney that's no longer possible. I'm glad we got to do so many years and do our favorite things, but that doesn't mean we don't miss the old stuff. I agree that they could have replaced some things with updated rides/attractions. I never did like the Aladdin Carpets, thought it was way out of place and NOT NEEDED. And on and on.
Also, I know people complain mightily about the traffic congestion when the Tapestry parades were going on in World Showcase, but I LOVED those parades. We went as often as possible. ADRs weren't always such a big deal. It's a shame that meal reservations become a reason to race through World Showcase. One reason we don't make ADRs and never did.
I'm an old timer and prefer a lot of things the way they were. I doubt I could pick just one that makes me sad. Loved Disney for many years, decades even.
:grouphug:

Toontown (recently went to the one in Disneyland and it made me realize how much this is missed at WDW), 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (again, got to do it at DLR with my kids and they loved it!), and Mr. Toad.

But the thing I really miss is a small thing - when I was a child I used to love getting fresh Florida OJ at WDW because it came in orange plastic cups that were shaped like an orange and had a green straw. I heard a rumor they were bringing this back (along with Orange Bird) but I did not see them on our March trip.

I miss Horizons the most - there was something so magical to me about walking into that ride and smelling the oranges! I also really miss when Cinderella's Royal Table was King Stefan's Banquet Hall and the food and atmosphere for dinner was really special!

If I had to guess I would say there will never be another parade in World Showcase. Great parade, but traffic nightmare because it was impossible to cross or pass the parade route. There's penalties for missing ADRs now.

As for the Polynesian, the available space is limited by the construction and no doubt they want to reserve it for guests who have paid to stay there.
Disney's design caused the limited space so I have no sympathy. I understand the reasoning but this is still just one more loss out of many.

I also wanted to add that I miss the unique shops on Main Street. Someone mentioned the arcade but I still remember the theater and the magic shop.

Horizons and when Living with the Land had tour guides and could answer questions. And I also miss King Stefan's Banquet Hall!

I have a list of things. Here are mine:

The cheaper prices disney used to have that keep increasing.
Evening EMH at AK
Jimney Cricket at the Conservation Station
Appetizer on the Plus Dining Plan
Camp Mickey & Minnie at Animal Kingdom
Mickey's Jamin Jungle Parade
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Bistro de Paris
6pm Christmas Tree Lightening Ceremony at Epcot
A Flights of Wonder Show at 4:30pm

Thats basically all I can think of for now.

ITA. On the design and the unique shops. I also miss Flower alley.

Lights of Winter at Epcot( Epcot holiday decor is depressing without them)
Mr Toad
20,000 Leagues
Horizons
World of motion
Wonders of Life Pavilion

Wasn't there a boat ride at AK in the beginning?

Would also miss Jungle Jammin Parade were to go back.

Attraction: Journey Into Imagination...hands down! It was a phenomenal timeless dark ride for people of all ages.

Snack: the Goofy Bar (also known as the Hercules bar at one point) - It was kind of like the Mickey Premium Bar, but it had chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla and it was slathered in caramel underneath the chocolatey outside. YUM!!! I can't stand vanilla ice cream, so my choices are very limited nowadays...

Entertainment: The ORIGINAL 21+ Pleasure Island...

Other: Character wandering!! No lines or set times for characters!!!

$10 E-ticket nights at MK!!!

Limited to resort guests and also had a limit on tickets sold so the park was virtually EMPTY!! Your wristband let you stay in the park for 3 hours - characters roamed free and all kinds of fun things happened.

Then Disney began EMH and ticketed events ... still special, but WAY more people and WAY more $$$ ;)

Skyway
20,000 Leagues
Old Disney movies on Main Street in MK
Stadium Seating and movies in Casey's
Boat ride in AK
Discovery Island

The one thing I don't mind now is how they do character meets. Let me tell you if you were 7 years old and meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time and had some random person jump in your picture with him, you wouldn't mind the organized lines now either :)

Guys--it occurs to me we could start a BRAND NEW WDW with all the things that are gone and we miss---

I have too many to list, but my main one I miss is the magic, fun and spontaneity Disney used to have.

With the curtain being ripped off to show the true reasons for FP+ and "My Magic", that is all gone.

We were just at WDW and I really did miss the original future world attractions. Imagination and Figment were my favorite things abotu Epcot as a kid--many memories.

I also miss Alfredos in Italy--my family always ate there whenever we went to WDW and they were so sad to learn its gone :sad1: I remember when you made your dining reservations when you arrived at Epcot in the morning--you used kiosks and spoke with a CM via video. I thought that was the coolest thing as a kid.

I also miss when there was actual low crowd times at WDW. We used to go in May as a kid and it was noteably less crowded then. This past May visit was more crowded than I expected it to be.

And lastly, I miss not being so scheduled. I found we were often running from place to place to make sure we didn't miss our fast pass slots.
