How can a theme park make you cry?

The other morning I was sitting in traffic on route 3 (you MA DISers may know where I'm talking about) and the commercial for Disney on Ice came on the radio. DH and I are taking my 2.5 year old DD and her friend on Saturday (I won the tickets through the radio station). Anyways, the commercial was putting a smile on my face until I realized the music in the background was the music to Fantasmic... and I started tearing up! I could picture the different scenes in my head... So here I am sitting in traffic at 7 in the morning crying because of a commercial on the radio

Honestly now... before we started going to WDW I thought of myself as a level headed, not overly-emotional woman. Now I cry at commercials, or when my DD makes cute comments about WDW. What has happened to me?! Please tell me I'm not alone, LOL!

Trust me Jenny, you are definitely NOT alone in this. Disney makes me cry often :o

I have been known to tear up over Disney, but are you sure it wasn't the Rt. 3 traffic? ;)

Well, I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but. . .

One time I got my credit card bill from Disney after a trip, and after seeing what I owed, I cried all afternoon. . :(

found out last Nov a cruise ship can make you cry
then a theme park can make you cry
(and i dont mean tears of happiness)

That's why I have a husband...I tell him I don't want to know. :)

I've shed many a tear at/about Disney.

Most of tears of joy, happy memories of visits past.

Some have been other tears - mostly during fights with my DH over something stupid. (Happened in Oct with his parents along).

The worst tears came when we had to cancel our trip in May of 1997. The tears were not because we would miss Disney, but because we had to cancel when my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. I knew she would never go back to Disney (and she was the one giving us the trip and was going to come with us). We lost her that October. I had bought here a brick that is at the Poly. Now every trip I try and visit it and the tears come.

Most of all what Disney has done is give me lots of happy memories and a 2nd home to enjoy with the man I love (even if we do have stupid fights once in a while). :)

DH and kids think I'm nuts . . .I always cry about Disney . . .when we watch our vacation video from July . . .I always get teared up when I see Spectromagic . . .especially the end where Cinderella comes . . .I don't know why . . .And I'm always getting teared up at one of the new Disney commercials . . .where Tink is in a jar . .

I'm a Disney Softie I guess . . .:)

You are definitely not alone! I tear up at just about every Disney commercial and it is dangerous for me to listen to my millineium CD or the Fantasmic CD!

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one :)

debster812 - Nah... I'm pretty much immune to the gridlock on Route 3 so I'm sure it wasn't that making me cry, lol! If they ever finish the construction on it and the traffic actually MOVES I might cry from sheer joy :)

LOL, WillyJ... that's why I don't put our vacations on a credit card! Too much temptation to spend, spend, spend!

Oh WDWLVR I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom. Where is the brick you got her at the Poly? I'd love to see it the next time we're there (we go to O'Hanas every trip). If you don't mind telling me, of course. And I hear you regarding the stupid fights! They're not common while on vacation, but they seem like such a waste of precious time :)

And I guess I'm a Disney Softie, too!

I cry at alot of the Disney commercials...right now the one that gets me going is the new grandpa dreaming of taking his new grandson?.....granddaughter! to WDW...
I want so badly to have a grandchild to take to WDW:(

This happens to me all the time. It can be a commercial, a song - it really doesn't matter. If it is something that reminds me of WDW, I get all choked up.

Last year in WDW, I found myself getting all misty when some of the little kids would hug one of the characters.

And the statue of Walt with Mickey in front of the Castle - that one always gets me started.

Oh well, at least they are all happy tears. :)

Jenny,

My mom's brick is # P08726 It is one the walkway half way between the resort and the luau cove. Her name is Mary Ellen Cheney. I always have a hard time finding it but if you just remember that someone special has a brick there that is enough.

My problem I think is I sometimes try to hard to make others (DH or his parents) happy that I don't always take enough time for myself. I'm getting better at that with DH's help.

I can honestly say that most of my Disney related tears are tears of joy!

The Disney commercial where the grandfather gets the phone call announcing the birth of his grandbaby always makes me cry.

I really need grandchildren to take to WDW.
