The best discount that I have used was the stay 4 nights, get 3 nights free back in 2009. It was my DH and DD4 and DD2 (at that time) first time. It was so cheap (the deal plus the one DD under 3) that when we went two years later, my DH couldn't believe the increase in price.
The deal that benefited us the greatest was the Give a Day. We still had Florida residence then and used the one day pass to purchase a FL AP. Our APs turned out to be about $70 OOP.
In 2003 if you booked a 3 night package you got 4 nights free, then the next year it was if you booked 4 night package you got 3 nights free. I took advantage of both promotions!
In March 2009 we got the buy 4, get 3 free + $200 gc. Fantastic deal! We've gone the same week ever since and have never had that deal again, but we have had free dining every time.
We went in 2009 on the buy 4 get 3 free promo. We went during birthday week (my DD and I have birthdays 1 day apart) and got the GC for the price of admission for those two days. That (combined) was a pretty sweet deal for us. Totally wish they'd do the b4g3 again.

We also scored this deal in 2009, and it allowed me to upgrade to AKL for DD's birthday trip. We stayed 7 nights on that and then another 3 using a 40% off pin code.
We took advantage of the Buy 4/Get 3 Free deal in 2009 and saved about $800 which was great. The free dining PIN code for our trip in 2011 saved us almost $1,000 (QSDP)...but of course we paid rack rate for 2 rooms at Pop on that trip so our total OOP costs were probably higher than the 2009 trip. But the free dining PIN saved us more than the room discount available for that trip.
Other than the 4/3, we also did great when the Swan and Dolphin were on Priceline, maybe 11 years ago. We stayed at the Swan for $75/night. Also, we did great with cruises when they offered the kids sale free, and before than, mour December cruise was about $760/per person for a week.
In summer 2003 the Fairytale package. It was buy 4 get 3 free nights, including tickets buy 4 get 3 free (before magic your way). We stayed at the poly GV concierge. They also gave us a really nice framed Philharmagic pin set. I think the whole package was about $2300 for me and DH (pre-kids). Plus we went to an e-night for about $15. those were the days.
Our best deal came in the form of a PIN code. We had booked POFQ for Christmas last year and got a code to upgrade to a deluxe resort for $29 a day. I thought it would just be for a standard room but when I asked the wonderful cast member about other categories he said he would check for us. Ended up with an Arusha view, bunk bed room at AKL from Dec. 22 - Jan. 1.
For us, it was one I booked but then cancelled when plans fell through. And they didn't offer it again this year. It was the Disney Visa Kids Stay, Play and Eat free. Staying in a value, paying for just my ticket and meal plan, and all three kids would have gotten their tickets and meal plan free. Couldn't believe how cheap the total was.
I know it's not a General Public discount, but the military discounts have been the greatest help for us by far since 2008. We've used it many times, and are hoping that they continue at least the room only for our 2014 trip for my 40th!!!
