What has been the best deal that you've ever seen Disney offer

We did the buy 4 get 3 free back in 2009 - used that for our honeymoon!

I also liked it when you only had to buy a 1-day ticket to get free dining, and you got regular dining plan even staying at a value. I saved all those tickets and used some to upgrade to annual water park passes, and the others for trips after our annual passes expired.

The good old days . . . lol

The Fall of 2008 we got 40 percent off our room, plus Free Dining. It was a glitch in the system. I had the room booked and the day Free Dining was offered, I called and added. It was the first time they extended Free Dining into November/December. I did get a phone call, but Disney honored it.

Best deal was 40% off room at any Deluxe in 2010. We chose AKL since the kids were a little younger so the resort "zoo" had an appeal :)

i have only booked 2 vacations as an adult but going in sept with free dining has worked out well for us both years. we don't have children and go just as two people, so whenever we run the numbers this option always comes out ahead. i recently priced out a value resort with 15% discount and discounted park hoppers for a quick mini trip. we concluded that with the cost of food unless we seriously cut corners the free dining still came out ahead as a better deal. i remember last year i wanted to go in the spring for 4 days and with a higher room rate it was as much as my last weeklong vacation.

Buy 4 get 3 for sure!:thumbsup2

Other than that the 40% off deluxe deals are good. Free dining used to be good when it included apps and tips.

I probably should have taken advantage of the buy 4 get 3 promotion, but I had a 40% of at AKL and switching would have switched me from Pool View to Standard. Probably not a huge difference, but not something I wanted for my honeymoon.

They did a monster pin a few years back that was 45% of any level of room (if I'm remember correctly). Unfortunately, I couldn't take advantage of the one I got, but I know some people got amazing rates with it.

It seems to be becoming more difficult to get a good discount, unless you do well with Free Dining.
Lucky for us, we should be able to take advantage of the military salute discount this year, which should save us considerably AND since the tickets only have 4 days on them we'll probably end up going to see the WoHP and do a water park, both of which we haven't been able to fit in thus far.

We have had 2 offers that were so good that they allowed us to stay Deluxe:cool1:
The first was in 2009, we had the Buy 4 Get 3 offer and stayed at the Poly:goodvibes and the next was a 45% off pin for villas. We booked BLT in 2010:goodvibes Those were great trips!
I sure wish they would bring back these excellent deals again:thumbsup2

Those who got the Buy 4 get 3 in 2009 - what months was that running? We went in October 2009 and had free dining *reg. plan not QS - stayed at POP! It doesn't matter now but I am curious if the B4G3 had been available would it have been a better deal for us...

We got it for our trip during the first week of March 2009.

For us, it was one I booked but then cancelled when plans fell through. And they didn't offer it again this year. It was the Disney Visa Kids Stay, Play and Eat free. Staying in a value, paying for just my ticket and meal plan, and all three kids would have gotten their tickets and meal plan free. Couldn't believe how cheap the total was.

This was a great deal for us too! It allowed us to bring DH's niece along and we had a great trip. We had 2 rooms at POP -- one booked on a regular FD bounceback (which included the regular DDP - it was the last year they offered that in a value resort) and 1 booked with Disney Visa Kids Stay, Play and Eat free.

ours was in early Feb.

Buy 4 get 3 + gift card was a good one - esp cause u only needed to buy a 1 day park ticket.

We have had other great deals over the years....

Free dining wasnt so bad when you got the regular dining plan at the values and only needed to buy a one day pass.

Military tickets - $99 for a 4 day ticket a few years ago

When Shades of Green was being rehabbed they put us in the Contemporary - at $99 a nite

Tables in Wonderland is still a great deal

$50 to add 10 Waterpark days onto a 10 day pass.

Over booking Pop and putting my party (3 rooms) into an SSR studio... for $89 a nite!

DVC on the resale market is a very good deal!

we did Presidents week.

My DH and I were there that same week under the B4G3 promo (and had NO IDEA what a great deal we were getting). It was our first (and only, so far) trip to WDW; stayed 10 days and absolutely fell in love with it. I wish this deal would come around again in a few years. Our daughter is going to be 3 in October (anyone doing the math on that one?? :lmao:) and coming from the West Coast I'd like her to be at least 5 before we attempt a cross-country trip. Having an excellent deal like the B4G3 would make it much more attractive.

Having said all that -- Disney Execs have consistently said for the last year that they are going to back off the deals for onsite stays, and it seems they are holding true to that. There have been deals, but nothing like what was seen in 2008 through 2010.

Part of the reason I bought DVC on the resale market is exactly what u wrote about above.

The best deal I've seen/used was the buy 4 days, get 3 days free, plus you got a $200 gift card.

We got this deal it was AWESOME! We paid $1200 for room and tickets, for two adults and 1 child. We used the $200 gc for breakfast and lunches. We dont eat a lot. :) We also walked away with six FREE tickets (no expiration) when we had issues with our room. They treated us so good. :cool1:

We checked in Mid March of 2009:thumbsup2

Wow! Nice upgrade! Why??

Those of you who say "only had to buy a 1 day ticket" did you have APs? Or just do non park activities? APs aren't happening for us at WDW *DLR yes, a couple times in the past* we had 8 & 9 day MYW passes *9 for DS & my mom - they flew in early our 1st day* 8 for DD and I who arrived late afternoon our 1st day.

It seems the B4G3 was early in 09, not available later that year.
