I’ve booked a 4 night cruise on the Disney Dream sailing out of NOLA. It will just be our granddaughter and me and the aim is for her to wallow in everything princess.

Is there any way to know when certain things (pirate night, “fancy” night, Royal Gsthering, etc) will be going on? We won’t be leaving the ship on our port day.

Thanks!

When you are on the trip you will look under my plans for the Royal Gathering and any other excursion etc. BBB . I think it tells you if it’s causal, pirate night extra as will at the top each day or where your dining is listed that night. If you’re doing 4 night I don’t think they have a formal on short cruises. For sure not on 3.

Scroll across near the top, you will see Characters, dining , movies, shows…tap on the one you want. character will list who is out and when, Dining will list where you can eat .

They used to do an "optional dress up" day on 3 and 4 day cruises but they didn't do them most recently on the Wish so I suspect they only do a formal/semi-formal night(s) on at least 7-day cruises now. It certainly shouldn't prevent you from dressing up if you wish or if your DGD wants to dress up as a princess. Children do that at any and all times, not just on formal nights.

Most recently on the Wish, pirate night was day three on the 4-day and day two on the 3-day. Rotation of restaurants for the four-day was 1223 with the pirate night being at restaurant #2 on the second visit with the pirate night menu. Pirate night on the 3-day was on the second night, but no pirate menu - just a regular menu for that rotation. I'm not sure if that will be the same on the Magic, but I would think it is highly likely.

Just to clarify in case this isn't obvious: The Disney Cruise Line app is different before you board and after you board.

Before your cruise, you need to use a Disney account to log into the app, and the app gives general information about the ports visited each day. When your activity booking window opens (75 days in advance for new cruisers), on the app you will be able to see the activities bookable for each day and the time(s) the activities are offered. Pirate Night may not be explicitly listed, but if the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a pirate makeover on a particular day, that day will probably have Pirate Night.

Once you are at the DCL cruise terminal and onboard the ship, the Disney Cruise Line app changes completely. All passengers can log into it using their name and room number. It will show all of the activities, dining locations/menus, and character meets for each day, including those that don't allow for booking, as NAB describes above.

Thanks, will it be a problem if our granddaughter dresses up for dinner and the shows? She’s a major fan of princess couture.

Absolutely not! She should go for it if that’s what she wants❤️

Seeing the costumes and princess dresses is like a little bit of pixie dust for our family with two boys who are "too cool" to dress up anymore.
