What happens if you miss an ADR?

What happens if you forget or otherwise miss an ADR? I'm very attached to mine, so I'm nearly certain we won't have this problem, but what if you lost track of time or didn't make it to one?

Just curious if you get charged anyway...??

I don't think you'd get charged for missing an ADR. When we are running late to an ADR, I always try and call the restaurant and ask if we can still get in. If for some reason we can't make it at all, I always call ahead and cancel. It gives someone else a chance to secure a reservation.

Good, thanks! I will make sure I call and cancel if we need to. My biggest worry is getting sidetracked somewhere and losing track of time. But I'm guessing our stomachs won't let us forget our ADRs.

Thanks for the info!

If it is during the holidays and you had to leave a credit card..you may be charged if you don't show.

If it's any restaurants that require your credit card like any Fantasmic Package restaurants or CRT, you will be charge $10/person for no shows. You have to cancel it a couple of days ahead of time (I believe 48 hours - not positively sure). However, they will explain all this to you when you call in.

I too have cancelled if I couldn't make it. I do believe that it is just courtesy for others. We have been a few minutes late before (about 5-10 min), they always seemed to be able to accomodate us. But that is usually when it's not busy. I can understand that it may not always be feasible to cancel. But if we know our ressies is within 30 minutes, we usually do not go on any ride. We usually take that time to leisurely walk to the restaurant and check in early. There have been the odd times that we have gotten in earlier than our ressies.

I have WDW Dining on speed dial and it is usually no problem to cancel.

We have to press so many button's just to get put on hold I wish we had the option to either leave a message or punch in the numbers ourselves. Last month it took 16:42 minutes to cancel one ADR. If it hadn't been Le Cellier where I know someone would have appreciated a reservation then I probably would have hung up.

Someone else mentioned this on another thread. I agree that it's a problem, and that WDW-DINE should have a separate option for cancellations.

But -- what about doing this while you're in line for an attraction? Isn't that a perfect time, since you're just waiting anyway?

Inquiring minds would like to know  :)

Between fast passes and going mid-week in January we don't wait in lines. However I have done that in the stand-by line in Maelstorm. I had to hang up after 10 minutes to get into the boat.
