I will be staying at WDW (Beach Club to be exact) in December and am become quite worried that the unions will be on strike if they can get an agreeable contact.

What will Disney do in this situation? Hire scabs? Run on skeleton crews?

Has anyone ever stayed at Disney when there was a strike?

There's never been a strike with this union, so no one can really answer your questions. If worse comes to worst, they will probably have backstage CM deployed to areas they need them, part time & college program working full weeks and manditory overtime.
Also keep in mind that it's a right to work state which, in simple terms, you don't have to be in a union to work in a role that is represented by a union. The last contract vote was rejected by a slim margin compared to the last votes. If there were a strike, in my personal opinion - the number of people striking would be offset by the number of college program, part timers, and over time seekers. But again, it's unlikely
They have brought in a mediator to work between the unions & Disney.

Don't worry too much about it, there's nothing you can do, worrying isn't going to make it any better. :) Relax and enjoy your vacation.

Keep in mind that even if a stike were to occur, which is very unlikely. Only about 12,000 Cm's would even be eligiable out of well over 50,000. Also many of those 12,000 would not strike either. I wouldn't worry.
