What happened?

I think the most ironic part for me...and yes I posted to the original thread was..that up until the post this am...her dd in ALL her other posts was 6 yrs old.....all of a sudden she is 4yrs old..

I would never make a mistake like that...maybe 1 year like if she was going from 4 to 5....but this child has been listed as 6 the entire time...

Another thing is that today's post about her DS's cancer was only the second one she had made out of almost 300 posts on the CB. She mostly posted on the Resorts Board, except just recently (including a bunch today) began posting on the Cruise Board. Only one other time has she mentioned DS's illness. She did apologize on the Resorts Board earlier, but it was also removed. Anyone know why? I just have a sick feeling over the whole thing. I pray that her daughter is well, but I feel for the entire family if this was all made up.

My thoughts exactly. Either way, it's a sad situation. But I'd rather a 4-year-old had a nutty mother than brain cancer!

JereseyJanice, We're very blessed. We had an amazing surgeon. In fact, he was on the team in Dallas that separated the Egyptian cojoined twins. They were able to remove all of the tumor. So, essentially, Benji is cured. The tumor could come back, but we're hoping and praying it doesn't, and we're loving life big time. Time is very precious to us, and time as a family is priceless. Shame on anyone who would exploit such a tragedy.

I don't know for sure if this particular person is a scam artist or anything, but I have been a member of various family and breastfeeding sites and this kind of thing really does happen.

So far I have known about several cases of fraud (one guy claimed to be a dr. dispensing medical advice yet was later found out to be a fraud as he doesn't even hold a MD degree), a few women claimed to have given birth with some asking for $$$ yet were found to be scam artists - even sicker is many made up stories of having stillborns or miscarriages while some stole pics of other women and their babies only to be fakes, one woman claims to have been pregnant with her 6th child while her dh just died and all sorts of other crazy things, and lots of other stuff.

Yes, there are freaks out there.

zurgswife, I think that she was posting the age of her daughter when they would make the trip to WDW. Since it was 2 years off, it would make sense that she would talk about a 6 year old. Someone else explained this to me so I hope that it's correct.

This lady's original post seemed odd to me when I read it. She found out about the cancer by phone and then posted on the DIS and then in a brief period called Make A Wish and another foundation? She would have high medical bills but worry about paying for a trip to WDW that is 2 years down the road and also still ask questions about a cruise to be taken next year?

As for posting here, I would do so once the initial shock wore off. But that's how I deal. I need distraction.

I think the weirdest thing about all of this is that she stated in her original post that her Disney trip was 12/05, with a possible cruise in 2006. Then someone found a post on a off site cruise board about her planning a trip(cruise) with her boyfriend for 12/04.....now if you look on the DIS cruise boards she is posting asking about birthday info. for her cruise 12/04. She posted this after asking for the donations earlier yesterday, and makes no mention of her daughter's illness? Kinda strange.

Rather than attack the OP, can't we just assume this is a person with a problem and give her a break. If what she said is untrue, than let's just let it go and move on. The DIS moderators took care of the request for money. No further discussion about that is required. If it turns out that her DD is sick, there will be a lot of people here eating crow. This tends to be a very judgemental crowd. At the very least, the OP is a disturbed person that needs our sympathy not our recrimination.
