We drive so much during the week that the thought of a Sunday drive doesn't sound very relaxing anymore. I do admit that sometimes in the summer when I'm not driving as much - we do occasionally take a Sunday drive.

I agree! The last thing I want to do is drive even more on the weekends!
Also we live in a large metropolitan area so a nice country drive isn't close by at all.
We go for lots of recreational rides on the motorcycle when its warmer out because it costs less. We get more miles for our money and we don't feel like we're cooped up in a cage with wheels.
I want to input this :
Years ago when I was a kid we would go to church Sunday morning come home and my mom would fix a big Sunday meal, we would eat and clean the kitchen back up, we would then go visit a family member and play outside while my folks talked on the front porch. We would then go home take a nap, get up and get ready and go back to church.
Today : We go to church on Sunday stop on the way home and eat out, go home and rest get back up and it's time to go back to Sunday evening church.
Is time going by super fast now or it it just mewe use to be able to get so much done in a day and now from the time you get up there is not enough time in a day to do anything hardly????
We still take road trips but just usually on a Saturday.![]()
That's sounds like my DH and me. Hop on the Harley and see where you end up. Usually ice cream is involved!
Places we go can be anywhere from the Gettysburg or Antietam Battlefield, a road winding through the mountains, a Harley Davidson store, or just the back country roads around our hometown.
We still take drives! My whole family loves it. We just hop in the car and go, maybe stop to take some pictures, grab lunch, or check out an interesting shop. Being in the car is soooo relaxing to me, and my kids seem to feel the same way. Lucky me!
When we lived in Oregon, and my husband was deployed, drives are how I kept my sanity. With a 3 year old, a newborn, and a house for sale, sometimes I just needed a few moments of quiet so I could actually think. I'd put the kids in the morning, hit up the drive through coffee place for a toasted marshmallow mocha, and we would just drive for a little bit. It was so....ahhhhh!
Oregon is beautiful! It was hard to feel down when the sun was shining through those tall trees, the cool air was blowing through the window, and the waves were crashing on a pristine beach!
