Yes, I love those books, wish she would churn out another one soon, lol. I just read the Outlander series tho, not the others about Lord John Grey.

I also loved The Book Thief. Fantastic book.
For those of you that enjoyed The Help you might also want to try Mudbound. Kitchen House was good also.
I am also not a fan of vampire books. Just not for me. I read the first Twilight book. I thought the writing was horrible. I have no desire to read any more in the series.
Dont you all that have Kindles just love that it tells what percentage you are thru the book, Im into that
Ok so Gone Girl was quite the ride. I had no idea what was going to happen next.
Now I'm reading Wolf Hall.
Glynis, I'm heading to London next week too.

I wasn't a part of the last thread so I'll jump in here at the beginning of this one!
I have started 3 different books in the last two weeks and nothing is really holding my attention. I seem to be in a reading slump. I am excited to get home from work and read, but nothing is catching my attention.
I have started Grave Surprise by Charliane Harris(I enjoyed the first in the series so I was excited for this one but, I can't get into it.)
I have also read the first four chapters of Janet Evanovich's Wicked Buisiness. But the story and characters are dumb to me. I thought that Wicked Attraction(the first) was dumb, but enjoyable enough to keep reading.
AND...I started the first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but I am having a really hard time grasping the vampire lore in this one. I know I should be open minded, but I am just so confused!I keep having to go back and read what the different types of vampires are and stuff!

How exciting!!! What for? My husband is a video photographer for our local tv station, and he's been sent to cover the Olympics. I'm going just because I love London, and can't wait to see my favorite sights again! I don't think I'll be going to any Olympic venues, but I'll be playing tourist! I'm so excited I just can't stand it! It's not Disney, but for me, it's a close second!!!
I think if you stick with the Black Dagger Brotherhood books you might start to love them... I know I am OBSESSED with them now... I often find myself counting down to the next book in the series and I have read each current book at least twice!
I LOVED these books, though I only read the first 3, then re-read them. I may pick up from the beginning and work my way through them again.
Right now I am reading a bunch of Kindle freebies, and it is very liberating to just delete one if it isn't great.
I thought "Game of Thrones" was so good! I really wanted the visual story, too, and DS19 said the HBO series was good, so I bought season 1 and am watching it on my ipad. It is really well done.
Gone Girl is on my to-read list, too.
Has anyone read On the Island?
I am really annoyed about a Kindle book I just read. I actually thought the Kindle version was defective because it ended abruptly with NO resolution of the intrigue. Then I went and read the amazon reviews and there were other readers who were furious that the author had done this, in order to get readers to buy the next book. Well, just as a matter of principle, I am NOT paying $9.99 for the kindle version of the second book in the series. I am sure I can find "spoilers" somewhere. I think this was such an underhanded, not-nice thing for the author to do.
I LOVED On the Island.
I read it in January just after I got my Kindle and Amazon kept making book suggestions for their .99 books. I only paid .99 but that book is worth the 9.99 they're charging now. I wasn't blown away by the description before I read it, but it's very good.
