Next DVC resort?

You make an interesting point with RIV (CFW has not been even close to being 100% declared and I don’t think it ever will be, and PIT is part of the overall PVB/Polynesian site which is cash and DVC mixed). Is RIV all DVC suite rooms and not a mix of hotel style rooms and DVC? If so then you are completely correct. RIV is usually so off my radar (the restricted points thing makes most of my points invalid there) that I didn’t even think about it.

RiV is all DVC and so is CFW. All cabins were added to the trust as part of DVC.

However, they have only activated 63 or 65 of them for use within DVC.

The other cabins can be used for cash rentals but they are owned by DVD.

DVD pays expenses for them until they get activated in a RTU plan.

Whether or not they do hybrid? I don’t know but I can see them deciding to move to more DVC and less hotel.

Yes…. Disney has never allowed a tower that disturbs the sight lines to be built in that area before…
My husband tried tell me why he thought this was allowed. I didnt see it. He said when you look across from far away it appears the swans and fish are on the water. This place is fugly

I see them going this way as well. I was shocked that Lakeshore Lodge is slated to include new Deluxe cash inventory for example. But then again, they can even decide after 5 years to convert that to DVC as a new DVC product.

It was allowed because Michael Graves is important, and Michael Eisner wanted to be associated with important people. Additionally, there was a lawsuit…

I think OKW (and maybe SSR?) are 100% DVC in addition to (eventually pending declarations) RIV and CFW
Bay Lake is a DVC only, did you not mention due to its location next to the Contemporary? The same can be said of the Beach Club DVC. Also, Kidani Village is only DVC --I can understand that not considered since it is part of AK which includes Jumbo House which has cash rooms. Boulder Ridge is a DVC only, but is next to the Wilderness Lodge (Copper Creek is like Jumbo, some of the Wilderness Lodge rooms were converted to DVC, but unlike Kidani, Boulder Ridge is separate from Copper Creek). This is just counting WDW as outside WDW there a several DVC only resorts.

Yes that is why I didn't mention those others. Those are all hybrid resorts like Lakeshore Lodge will be and are usually the norm. They share amenities between the DVC wings/towers and those normal resorts and Disney puts the main resort in the name as well.

I was responding to those saying that there would never be a completely DVC resort not including a hotel component, when there are already several

LOL Swan and Dolphin is at least somewhat off in the distance, I think it'd be a lot different if it were at Beach Club which is right next door. Maybe you could say it's similar to VGC but VGC actually fits into that area of DCA because it's right next to Grizzly River Rapids and etc.
