I got an interesting note from DVC saying "...hello I am your new guide". It was a form letter with no name on the form.

I assume my old guide has left DVC, and not that I used him much since the purchase but with Animal Kingdom opening up, who knows maybe I want an Add-on???? (Have to get DW to agree first)

Not really concerned, I am sure any future purchases can be accomodated by any guide but thought it was amusing I got a form letter...with the blanks not filled out.

Guides come and go. I've likely had 8 or 9 over the years. One of my guides even left then later came back. I've had two guides leave in the last few months. At least you got a letter, I've only been notified once that my guide had changed. IMO it is poor form and rude for your new guide not to contact you in some way but a form letter would be fine in my book. Now at least the emails we get have the guide's name on them.

I think my guide has been there from the beginning. He called me a few weeks ago just to say "hello" and wanted to know how we were enjoying our DVC. He also told me to stop by next time we were at WDW. I thought that was kind of nice.

Dean - what are you doing to them? :rotfl: I am only on my 2nd in almost 8 years. Communication is definetly important, I hear from my new guide occassionally and my old guide just sent me her baby's birth announcement :)

LOL, I've never even talked to part of them. I've had 2 leave in the last few months.

Once we bought we never heard from ours as we did it over the phone as F&F was ending. He sort of blew us off for our visit that we had planed before doing it over the phone 2 weeks before arrival.

Now our new guide same thing form letter and nothing else his name is on the E-Mails we get or I wouldn't even know who our guide is.

My recently new guide called to let me know he was my new guide. Asked when I planned a trip and said stop in and say hello. I told him I was coming to Orlando to apartment hunt in several areas of florida and he said to stop in and he'd help me decide on the best neighbor hoods and let me know where NOT to live...... He called back a few minutes later and asked to speak to a Kim H, and said hey didn't I just speak to you? sorry I must have dialed wrong number. I told him he dialed correctly that kim was my DD. Don't know why he didn't notice the last name since it isn't common(LOL). Oh well he seems really nice. Susan

We have a guide who wasn't helpful at all. He even gave us wrong information that caused us alot of extra time before becoming official members. I was really hoping if we decide to add-on that we won't have to deal with him again. I so envy all you folks whose guides are so friendly and helpful.
