What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

You cannot really classify it as scamming when DISNEY is TELLING guests they SHOULD and CAN do this. Had two of them tell me this when I had to call their helpdesk.

PRECISELY!

But do you think it's giving people a fair view of what FP+ will be like if and/or when they eventually take this ability away?

I do not.

Irrelevant. Do you think it would be fair for the folks not testing to get more fast passes than the people who are testing? I do not

Well I didn't say anything about it being fair for one person over another. That's not my point.

My point is, it is not giving you, me or anybody a "fair look" at what FP+ will be in the future if people are allowed to double dip. I couldn't care less if people that aren't testing get more FP than me. That was neither my point nor is it important.

If you agree to test…. you agree to 3 a day and that's it. Then don't agree to test if you don't want only 3.

ETA… and it actually makes me kind of angry that they are encouraging people to double dip. The combination of regular FP customers, plus FP+ plus those people pulling additional FP is what is most likely causing these problems. Along with the unusually heavy crowds this last week or so.

Read any of the numerous threads about fastpass return times over the last few days.

It's 7:20pm and there is FP available right now at the MK for BTM, SM, SM, JC, Buzz, Dumbo, Winnie the Poo, Under the Sea and Barnstormer.

Unlike the speculators, I lived this thing for 9 days the week before last with them having more resorts/people using the system than in August or September. I have firsthand experience with the thing- and I didn't care much for it. We did really like the magic bands themselves though- it was FP+ and MDE we had issues with.

But, see, that's the thing--I also lived it. So I am not a speculator. And I liked it VERY much, as did others I talked to. So now what? I think there is no one size fits all. So Disney will do what they believe to be best for the majority (and their profits, obviously). Is this it? Remains to be seen, I guess.

"In my day, we didn't have fancy Fastpasses and Magic Bands. We woke up at the crack of dawn to get in line for rides. The lines were 5 hours long and there was no shade, you'd have to bring a change of clothes and salt tablets because you'd sweat so much. We only had time for 3 rides a day and we liked it!!" http://s93.photobucket.com/user/hamsters71/media/image_zps1295e71f.jpg.html

:rotfl: I was JUST saying this to my friend!! Recalling the days before FP at ALL!!!! And the long lines in the heat!!!

And there will be nothing left for people who don't want to plan every second of their trip months ahead of time.

But that is their choice, if an alternative that is known to them is available, but they decide it's not their preference !

End of the world? Death? No. But waiting in line for many hours more than in the past after paying thousands of dollars is not most people's ideas of progress.

Many more hours I think is pushing it.

You misunderstand my point. If they didn't encourage you to double dip, no one WOULD agree to test because they would know they'd be able to get more fast passes without the test!

It's incredible how people figure out how to scam a system in place instead of using it for what it's intended for. That's why they did what they did for their ADR's so give Disney time they will fix that , too.

It's not scamming if the cast members are telling you to do it!!!

No I get your point. But I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall.

I would have tested, gladly, knowing I would only get 3. My goal in a Disney day is not to be the winner of getting the most FPs pulled for the same ride. I think it's greedy. I know that will make a lot of people upset, but that's how I feel.

They should have tested this the way it was meant to be used. And if people didn't want to test that's fine. Test with the ones that do, and then roll out. There will be people that don't like it, like you, and there will be people that do like it, like me.

LOL.. Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Whether they're telling you to or not.

Why does one person/family need to ride TSM 4 times in a day? While another 3 families aren't getting to ride it at all?

It is still in testing so I am sure things will change before they roll it out completely.

This is what we experienced.

I loved having the room key on my band. It was very helpful when your hands were full etc.

Charging was very easy. I was worried about this until I realized that I had to put in a code every time I wanted to charge. I wasn't thrilled that the employees watch you put in the code. The other issue I had was that at the Pop Century food court you did NOT have to put in your code.

The tickets on the band were also nice. Plus the fact that if my daughter got separated from me I told her to go to a CM so they could scan her band and find me.

Fastpass+ I have heard a lot of talk about double dipping but this was not allowed when we were there. I booked 3 fast passes each for 2 days. It was REALLY nice being guaranteed to be able to ride Toy Story. This hasn't happened in a while! The second day we were heading to MK. I booked Belle, Rapunzel and Pooh. I checked out of the hotel that morning and drove to the park. The monorails were having problems so the lines were very long. I had also booked BOG for brunch/lunch. We ended up getting to the park in time to go to BOG, but that meant that we were going to miss Belle. Unfortunate but necessary. After BOG we walked over to Space Mountain and the wait was 60 minutes. I asked about Fastpasses and was told that I Magic Bands couldn't use the machines. If I wanted to use a Fastpass I needed to get one through the app. This info ended up being very helpful. I pulled up the link and changed the Pooh ride to Thunder Mountain and we headed over to ride Dumbo. After riding Dumbo I started feeling bad. It was time for Rapunzel so we headed there. At this point my skin was burning on my face, moving down my neck and arms. After Rapunzel I went to First Aid to see what might be wrong. They were clueless but thankfully gave me some Benedryl and I started to feel better after an hour or so. While I was there it was time for us to head to Thunder Mountain but there was no way I could manage. I went back on the app and was able to change the time for later in the afternoon. This saved my daughters afternoon.

We did not have to walk all over the park to find out the wait times and that was wonderful. We are normally at rope drop but were not this time. I asked my daughter what were her top three and I was able to guarantee her those events. I was also able to change the times which really was helpful that day. I was actually fine with the Fastpasses I had to begin with but with my weird reaction being able to change was extremely nice.

I have heard people see that 3 passes is not enough, but for our family it will be perfect. We can go at rope drop and ride the rides, take a break in the afternoon and then have the passes for the nighttime visit.

BTW - I couldn't drive home due to taking the medicine which made me sleepy and checked back into the hotel.

We are staying at the GF and have FP+ ressies for most of the days and most of the parks...

That said I am probably one of the few people who feel it is locking me into making choices. When the kids were little I kamikazed our plans...Parks, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner ressies before FP and when ADP's were easier to make!

Our last few visits we've been more flexible and able to enjoy more options...most signature restaurants are available day of in my experience...and if their not pizza in the room or by the pool is even better!

I started doing a spreadsheet with our reservation info a couple of years ago and it helps me keep things straight on which days we will be where.

Park hours get released, then I can figure out what parks I want to avoid on what days, then after I know where we will be, I know our choices for dinner/lunch. Once I know that, it's not that hard for me to figure out the attractions we want to FP+ for on what afternoon:

uz22.jpg

That is awesome!! I happen to love Excel and do everything in it from plan my vacations, to balance my check book. I even planned our Disney Wedding using multiple spreadsheets!!

I used to do the same thing, but once the app was updated I started to keep all my info in there. I could make and share notes for things that I couldn't add to my itinerary.

The longest wait we had using the Fastpasses was 10 minutes. That included TSM, rockin roller coaster, Rapunzel, thunder mountain and BOG.

Thank you for your report and it's good to hear that at least some CMs are "enforcing" the new FP+ system the way it's meant to be implemented, to give everyone a fair chance.

Why shouldn't you, exactly?

Next you'll be saying it's not fair that a family gets selected to be in the parade, but your family did not...
