What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

We are going down over Thanksgiving and yes I'm apprehensive because it will be the first time with major holiday crowds that will tax the MDE system. I'm the planner in the family and have done everything I can to make sure we make the most of we have been presented with. I have all our FP+ lined up and I didn't think that was too hard to do. I made a few dining reservations, but we don't mind eating counter service.

I'm willing to give it chance and I'm sure that even if the entire system buckles under the weight of major holiday crowds we will still have fun. I don't mind going and watching Hall of Presidents or Ellen's Energy Adventure. Worse comes to worse we'll go play Sorcerer's of the MK. Or simply go hang out at the SSR pool.

I will know after our trip whether or not the MDE system is good or bad. I do know, because I have some relatives who work at WDW and are working with FP+, that they are having problems. Disney is throwing a lot of resources at it to try and over come the operational issues involved. We will see.

:rotfl: I might be the exception haha I was making it a point though. It's not the end of the world and waiting isn't death as people presume haha. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

And plus. Everyone waits in line now. You can't get a FP for everything on the old system. Even if you run around every two hours collecting them. You are running around more than you are waiting. No fun worrying about times and where you are and where you have to be doing that either.

To me no difference except now I don't have to run around getting fast passes. This time actually saves walking and my lazy albeit skinny butt likes this.

What's the new ADR policy? (and how did I miss that...)
I just booked all my FP+, with 2 small kids, we'll do MK 2 halfs + 1 whole day, so I did 3 "areas" of contiguous FPs... so 9 FPs for MK. I'm really looking forward to using it.. Nervous about the technical glitches tho!
Then again, I absolutely LOVE spreadsheets and planning!

The new policy says you have to cancel within 24 hours or you get charged a fee.

Well, I was actually a bit disappointed last year when we "missed" the Dumbo and PoohBear cues... And there was no line for Mermaid either, so DS and I spent our own 15 minutes waiting in our own line

Starting Oct. 31st all ADR's must be secured with a Credit Card. You need to cancel 24 hrs in advance or they charge you CC $10 a person for a no show.

24 hours from booking, or 24 hours ahead of time?

24 hours before your reservation time. So if you have aADR on dec 25 at 11 am you have until dec 24 at 11 am to cancel. That is my understanding.

"In my day, we didn't have fancy Fastpasses and Magic Bands. We woke up at the crack of dawn to get in line for rides. The lines were 5 hours long and there was no shade, you'd have to bring a change of clothes and salt tablets because you'd sweat so much. We only had time for 3 rides a day and we liked it!!"

I was actually disappointed to miss the Pooh and Dumbo and Ariel lines. (Actually played with DS 15 mins before going on Ariel).

Sigh! Maybe I am going to miss FP-

I think the biggest upset I have with it is that I tend to be a spontaneous person for half of my vacation... I don't know what park I'm going to end up in half the time, and it forces me to have my park days planned out two months ahead of time.

But hey, we will adapt and the best thing we can do is keep giving Disney honest feedback about our concerns. Hopefully this isn't a disaster for much longer. ::crosses fingers::

And for those of you going and using the system,
I like hearing the bad AND the good. The more info the better.

No, it wasn't a system problem. It is the new normal with FP+.

I just checked the MK wait times. There are still FP times available for all rides. I was at DW over the Columbus Day weekend. I saw lots of FP availability, even later in the day.

End of the world? Death? No. But waiting in line for many hours more than in the past after paying thousands of dollars is not most people's ideas of progress.

All of the "grumpy old men" are in luck... those days are coming back! :rotfl2:

Is this a FACT or your OPINION? If it's a FACT, can you share the supporting facts to go with it? I personally would be interested in your role in the FP+ project as well as the involvement of all your sources. I'll assume if this is fact then none of your supporting facts are based on Guest experiences over a brief time period.

The problem is that WDW is just too crowded. They need to increase the prices .

I didn't read the whole thread, just to here and wanted to respond.

I assume this may not have been entirely serious, but I do think there is some truth to it. Instead of FP+ or FP or anything, do what some other competing parks have done, you can either buy a front of the line OR those staying on-site get some advantage.
