What flight time is manageable?

Flying out same day as the ship docks in Dover out of Heathrow, which is a reasonable time to make it without much stress? I believe Dover is about two hours by train or car from London.

11am, 2pm, 4pm?

I'm thinking 11am would be a little stressful, just in case anything went wrong delaying the ships arrival time or traffic on the road. Is 4pm too late where we would have a lot of time waiting around an airport before our flight?

For Dover, (flying out of Heathrow or Gatwick), Disney recommends that the earliest departure time should be 1:45PM. So, the 2 or 4PM would likely be fine.

I've heard that Dover castle is really nice to visit on your way back to the airport

We got off the ship on 9/9 at Dover at 7 AM (express walk off) and was at Heathrow by private vehicle at 8:45 AM. Security was a breeze and we were bored waiting around until our 12:55 flight. A Disney bus to Heathrow left the same time we did so I am sure they were at the airport by 9 AM as well. 11 AM might be pushing it, but I would have loved to been on a flight at that time. We sat around past security - went on wifi thru the airport, shopped a little with extra pounds we had, ate a snack. Not much else to do there but watch people and just relax before your flight. There are a few lounges you can utilize but they were stuffy and crowded - we felt better just being in the open area of the terminal.

Ya I felt like 11am was too early and there would be a lot of stress if anything got delayed. I am notorious for getting to an airport too early and waiting around for my flight to make sure everything goes smoothly. How was the cruise?

The cruise was amazing. We had to fly in the morning of the cruise from the USA which was stressful due to a funeral - we made it to the ship with 2 hours to spare - that was my biggest stress. Coming back home at 12:55 pm flight I wasn't stressed at all There are plenty of restaurants in LHR post security where you can have a nice leisurely meal. I was still stuffed from the cruise so I just had a scone and a coffee and caught up on the world with wifi which we didn't use on the ship at all. Have fun!!
